Stupid or Good Idea? - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #46571 3 posts Started by I3arruka
Ipod connection to my Pioneer radio comes lose/moves around ever so slightly enough for sound to go out on one side of the car. My "Icord" is directly connected to my deck via IP-Bus input. My crazy idea was maybe I could CAREFULLY hot glue/or silicone the cord directly on my deck so I do not have this problem again. Now when I say this I invision just hot glueing it when the cord is connected and just glueing the outside by the cord to keep it in place.
Good or bad idea? Why? Thanks smile.gif

Well, if it's impractical to replace the cord, I'd think you may be better of with a silicone-based sealant. It should hold the cord in place, and unlike hot glue, you could remove it and clean it up if necessary (for example, if the connection once again worked itself loose).

One thing I've noticed about hot glue... It has gotten warm enough in my car to melt the hot glue that I used... I would go with something silicone-based as applejax suggested.
