I need some help figuring out where I could install the nozzle for water injection. I took a look at my intercooler, there is no room on the outlet for the nozzle to be placed.

The only idea I have right now is to tap the cold star injector hole on the manifold. Or some how figuring out a way to use the extra vac tap on the back of the manifold as the injection point.

Any thoughts ?

If you mean the vacuum port that faces down, I wouldn't use that.
The CSI would be a good place. I would see how well your engine starts without it first.

It is probably in the best position to feed to all cyl equally [for any relatively easy installation anyways].

You could also tap a hole in the end of the plenum where the EGR valve goes.
It's nice and flat.
The only thing is, you will need to remove the manifold to do it....

If you do use the cold start injector port, you could set up the water injection to come on during cranking also. Right? It would act as a C.S.I.

I think lagos put his on the intercooler piping. That way you can remove it easily and access it easily.

did you buy the same devilsown kit as i did?

on a top mount you can tap it right into the IC after the turbo or on the rubber coupler to the throttle body

I didnt buy it yet. I'm looking for a solution before I get it. There is NO room for this nozzle on my 6 inches of piping. I'm not to happy with the idea of drilling the rubber. I think over time of 13+ PSI the rubber will fail to hold pressure.

I thought about drilling the manifold, but like Jeremy said I'd have to remove it. Which I am to lazy to do. So I guess if I want this I have to go with the CSI hole.

Any other Ideas ?

because you wouldnt be able to install the WI nozzle in there. not to mention that you need to install it before the butterfly valve so that the fuel has time to atomize.

a lot of alltrac guys tap right into the top mount ic on the side closer to the turbo.

This is a picture of a Manifold Air Temperature sensor adapted to the cold start injector location. If they can fit this sensor in, I can install the injector there.

Atomizing the water should'nt be a problem. The injector sits directly under where the runners split. The Air would pull the water down each runner quite well IMO.

An ATA TMIC is a different beast than a WTAIC.
He has an RC swap. There are fewer places you can tap into.

With that said, you could tap into the feed tube for the IC. Though some of the water might get caught up in the IC fins. :shrug:

Or the rear of the IC [The RC IC has front and back endtanks instead of side to side] might be able to support it. You don't have any EGR stuff to get in the way.

One thing with the CSI location.
Will it feed all cyl equally under boost?

It's one thing to spray when the engine is idling, and you only have suction directing the spray.
But under boost you have all the pressure flowing in from the TB.
Would it not lessen the #1 feed at least?

I think the flow would be very much equal for each cylinder. The injector would spray water directly into the air stream after the throttle body. After the injection, the air hits the back wall of the manifold then splits into each runner.

I'm going to try it this way, I believe this will work. If I'm not happy with the results I'll just return the C.S.I. to stock.
