checkvalves - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #46681 12 posts Started by Celiracer18
now that im going to turbo i know i need some checkvalves. but i have a few questions,
1. I know that they keep the MAP sensor from seeing boost but why cant you leave it?
2. What happens if the MAP sensor senses boost?
3. Where can i get checkvalves?

*edit* just found some answers on the net.

just get a MAP sensor that was made to sense boost... ?

Manny (presure2) says one from an MR2 turbo will plug in just fine.

A 3SGTE MAP sensor should be plug and play for you.
Much better than getting a check valve....
check valves are for fish tanks, not turbo setups.
get the 2 bar map, and stay away from the check valves.

look around on MR2OC for a 2 Bar MAP sensor or Turbo Pressure Sensor as Toyota calls it. last time I was looking I couldn't find one but a few days ago I posted a WTB and got a reply right away. I'm told around $75 is a good price for one, I got it for 80 shipped from Canada
