so my '94 celica gt failed its emission test again (2nd time) this past week. it gave me the same reading that im making too much CO. i changed the oil, oil filter, air filter, sparkplugs, even poured in a bottle of seafoam into a full gas tank..and it still fail. i was given a few options b4 my next emission..either i replace the knock senser, or replace the O2 senser (a buddy recommended either, or both). just curious if u guys can piont out anything else that might b causing this high level of polution..just anything. thanks.

is it just your CO that is high? or are other things high too?
when was the last time your air filter was changed? also, you could try the O2 sensor as well.

Its probably your injectors. When I had the same problem with my Curren, they told me that I should have my mechanic take them out and clean them or just drive the car hard for a few minutes and take the car back, Guess what I did.
Well I drove the curren really hard for about half an hour and when I took it back for testing it almost show zero CO2. Do not be tricked with additives and bull**** like that. They say this to sell you stuff which do not make that much of a difference.

whenever i go to emissions, i just go late like right before they close, and they dont even hook me up to anything. i pay and they drive me right through and give me a pass. takes about 30sec...i love it

I would say that you cat is your problem. It is supposed to convert the CO to CO2. Also the knock sensor will not help you. That doesn't affect your emissions.
CO is related to fuel control. So as stated earlier either the injectors, FPR etc.. Also make sure you don't have a Cracked header or intake manifold.

Yes and no.
Just because it worked for you one time on your car doesn't mean it's everyones solution.
High CO also can show a bad converter if there is also high NOx and high HC. Yes high CO will indicate a rich condition but there would be an issue with fuel consumption being up. If you want to confirm what is causing it you should take it to a shop that has the diagnostic equipment to see if an injector is sticking or if the O2 sensor is indicating a lean condition all the time. If your fuel mileage hasn't changed then I would suspect the converter.
