Staggered wheel setups...can we run em??? - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #47007 8 posts Started by Davesceli
I've seen a couple 7th gen celis running staggered wheel setups and was curious what are the pros and cons of using that setup...i think it looks pretty sweet and i think it will look awesome on our 6th gens.
the only pro to the set up is: it looks good.

the cons:

inable to properly rotate tires.

increase understeer.

If you use the same size tire all around, you can still rotate them. Just makes it more work for tire techs because they have to dismount tires, rotate tires (not wheels), and balance.

A staggered set up is basically when you have larger or wider wheels in the back than in the front. A staggered set up would be like 18x8.5 in the front and 18x9.5 in the back. The new Lexus IS350 comes with a staggered set up wink.gif .

i run 18x7.5 and 18x9.5 without much issue....u can feel the undertseer somewhat but unless you track your car, its no major issue
