From my understanding its weight reduction is only 90LBS for the whole car...thats not very good.
I'd like to see lap times from both the CR and standard s2k in 1/4 mile, and road course to see the REAL differences.
from another article about the CR:

The result of these changes is a claimed two-second reduction in the S2000 CRs lap time around Hondas Tochigi test track. Thats a huge difference; you could add 50 horsepower to a regular S2000 and you might not see your lap time drop that much.
imo, now that the CR doesn't have the soft top, and A/C and stereo package are now optional (not standard, to save weight), bigger and stickier tires, stiffer suspension, same hp rating and nearly the same weight (seeing that there's no soft top and a/c), etc etc... it's not something to go crazy over.. i mean, just about anyone with a standard s2k hardtop can do the same with the same increase in price (~$3k-$5k more than a standard s2k) and just buy aftermarket parts.. perhaps the only real benefit would be the quicker steering response??
