Should I be pissed? - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #47476 45 posts Started by CJOHNST3
here's the background, I bought a front lip from boosted6g 3 weeks ago, it arrived broken - it was shipped in bubblewrap only, not a box, not surrounded by cardboard, just bubblewrap.

I informed him immediately and even though it took a while to respond, he said he's filed a claim.

OK, so do you think he should be sending me a new one? Or sending me my money back. Cause as of right now, he won't respond to my emails, he refuses to give me a phone number to chat like gentlemen. I told him it was busted via shipping on April 9th, wouldn't you expect something by now.

I've come to respect everyone who joins the forum, and value your opinion, Boosted6g has a good seller rating, but for some reason, I feel like I'm getting a raw deal. So I'll open it up to your opinion.

What response would you expect?

April 27 - still no response from boosted6g

a) If it was broken when you recieved it, you SHOULD have declined delivery, a general rule when buying things and recieving shipment is, to INSPECT before the delivery guy leaves, and if its broken do not accept it

b) if its been a few weeks IE 1.5 or more then yea i would start getting upset too thats just poor business

Even if he's "sorting it out" he should at least touch base with CJOHNST3; even if he was busy or swamped or w/e. Bad for business.

it wasn't obvious it was cracked, as likely what happened is the shipper bent it so it would fit in a truck, and it bent so far it split - not viewable under bubblewrap.

Not sure who the shipper was - maybe I'm just impatient since I was to have it installed on the 9th. How long to claims take?
honestly ... i would say its not his fault. shipping companies damage items all the time, and thats the risk you take when you have something mailed to you. its also the reason why you should pay the seller a few more bucks to cover shipping insurance,

clear is a good guy and i have done business with him/talked over the phone with him numerous times. it is ashame though that it came cracked. i would call him (if 6strngs gave number) and leave a few voice mails then take it from there. best of luck though.

clear is one of the good guys. i talked to him last week. he wouldnt crap on ya. i would be mad at the shipping company because from what i understand and seen with my own eyes (bought a kit from him) HE ALWAYS packs it WELL and in a box)

I have done business with him numerous of times. Great guy fast shipping. Never had anything come without a box tho. My sides got cracked from shipping and i let him know but told him not to worry about it because my bodyman fixed them. Just be patient, during saterdays and sundays he wont reply because its the weekend. he's only on the internet and stuff during the weekdays. so be patient he'll reply back with your stuff today or tomorrow.
can someone pm me his number

argument A is harder to do than said... Can't really open up packages while having the delivery dude standing there waiting for you to check the package content.

From what I'm hearing, packing seems horribly done. Though, carriers should come with some sort of basic insurance. Say UPS usually comes with basic $100 insurance even if you didn't purchase it. The only problem is ONLY the shipper can claim money back, receiver can't really do anything. I guess just wait for responses..

get some backbone then son...they wait for people to check all the time, and the companies ALWAYS recommend doing it...

its only hard if u don't have the guts to ask the guy to wait a sec

OK fine, I'm more of speaking for myself. We receive 20~50 packages a day, we honestly CANNOT check every single one. The best we can do is to make sure packages have a department written on it, if no department or reference number is stated, we'll bounce it.

Tomaz the receiver CAN approach the shipping company. I remember when I sold my 404 front lip I packed it really nice but the buyer got it broken right in the middle so he sent me pics of it and I told him that I put insurance on it, he went to UPS and file a claim they paid for the lip to get fixed and they didn't even contact me so the receiver actually can complain and file a claim if needed, you just have to do it the right way and within a reasonable time frame.

Hey culpable if you're sure on that then I'll really need to talk to our UPS representative on that issue.

lol yea you do bro...

but also you are presenting a Commercial side of things....
Kids on here are talking residential....so the process is inherently different and slower paced with residential....though when products are broken the receiver can make the claim, yada yada all on their own regardless

yeah, I hope the member who bought the lip from me can come and tell us exactly how the process went, because asI said they didn't contact me for anything, I pm'ed the buyer a couple times and he kept me up to date with the process and the last thing he said was, that they agreed to pay for all the damages so the lip was gonna get repair at their expese. look into it, and since is a business oriented issue talk to a supevisor or manager and address your problem, I'm sure they don't wanna lose your business as a customer.
oh gosh thanks for u guys' help..

anyway, so that means CJOHNST3 can make a claim through the carrier (well if he knows which carrier) for the damage during transit, even if shipper isn't able to provide help at the time.

yes he can, but if the shipment arrive too long ago they may use that as an excuse.

The carrier dictates who can make a claim. I do alot of ebay stuff and ship and receive items, and fed ex, ups, dhl and yellow etc all have different rules for that stuff - residential / business has never made a difference for me on that - for them it's all business, just a residential address.

i'm in limbo, as boosted obviously has other things going on, of course he has little skin in the game - he's got my money, and he's dealing w/ an admin function - his only long term worry is my opinion - and as much as it sucks, he's got no incentive to make this a priority - none
