Anyone purchase this phone yet? I had the sidekick 3 from July to January but realized it sucked so I bought the MDA which is a pain to use cuz its touch screen and I can not drive and even find a number easily. So the Sidekick iD which is basically an improved Sidekick 3 that you can customize a bit more came out yesterday I think. SO I have it being sent to me express.

Just wanted to see if someone had it. im praying that it doesnt el sucko too badly.

don't expect a big improvement. its sidekick 2.5....

it doesnt have bluetooth (expect to use the corded hands free headset), no camera (not like anyone used the crappy one on the sk3 anyways), no mp3 playback, no memory expansion. i guess itll be worth the money if your gonna use it to web browse, text message, or instant message, for the battery life does last longer than the sk3, but thats only because it doesn't use EDGE.

I think ill return it because mine was 170 bucks after shipping because I didnt qualify for a full phone upgrade yet.

I do however like the idea of IMing cuz the MDA has IM on it but can take up to 30 mins for an IM to be received on either side. hmm we will see.

sk3 id is a waste of money imo.. forkee already listed all it's short comings. and if you're a windows mobile kind of person, the mda ain't that bad.

no thats what i dont like about hte MDA. i dont need a mini computer. When are they going to come out with a place that u can just build ur own phone?

all i want is a keyboard, camera, good sound quality, downloadable ringers, and thats about it i believe

dont get me wrong, i like the sk3 but i dont use it as a phone (even though i have 1000 anytime, unlimited nights and weekend plan). i use it to do what my krzr has a hard time doing. instant messaging (the sk can have 10 AIM, 10 yahoo, and 10 msn conversations at once), html web browsing (not lame WAP), games like sonic the hedgehog, pacman, dig dug, etc. and the best part is, you can do all of these at the same time! i cant find any other phone that lets you do this, plus listen to mp3s and send text messages at the same time.

the only thing i dont like is that its too big. i just cant wear it with scrubs, it pulls my pants down and looks all bulky. it becomes a major issue when you cant even have it on you for the major part of the day....sucks......

Sidekick = T-moblie......or it could be unlocked...either way VZ is not GSM

i don't think SK3 can be unlocked.. well at least i can't i prefer the HTC 8525 from Cingular. it's got MSN messanger, querty keyboard and best of all Windows Mobile. and i could play SNES games on it. Captain Commando FTW!!

u can unlock the sk but only use it for calling or text messaging. the internet, downloadable games, etc. instant messaging, email, address book, are all dependent on tmobile's network.

the EnV is terrible. My gf got it in lue of the sidekick, and its a bad IM device, bad internet device, sub-par phone, akward camera. The only thing it can do up to expectations is txt messages. She curses everyday that she didtn get the sdk. But she is stuck in a two year plan, so what can you do?

SK2 owns the SK3. I wish I never woulda gotten rid of my SK2
