She's done. I decided to start a new thread instead of bringing the old one back from the dead. I got as far as finishing the sideskirts and rear extensions before my dad decided to lease out the warehouse so I had no where to work. I did get a great deal though on having the work finished. I tried to take a couple pictures tonight but my camera battery died. Here's what I got though. Don't mind the bug splatters and the dust, she needs a good cleaning after driving 300 miles over the past 24 hours. smile.gif

The front. I had the ss-III front extensions split and molded on as two pieces on each side. I thought it would look a lot better. This picture sucks, but I was right, it looks bad ass smile.gif.

Here's a shot showing part of the Hiro rear extensions molded on and the sideskirt. She's beautiful, it almost brings a tear to my eye.

I'll have some more pictures posted tomorrow, I just had to show off a bit tonight smile.gif.

Beautiful job man. So you ended up doing all the body work and prep work, got a few things painted and then your dad kicked you out of the garage?
That black is liquid man. Very nice.
1 thing - tire shine - you need it now with that ultra black paint job.
What do you mean your splitters are cut?
Oh and you need a new sig now.
LOL yea you need some tire shine man. We'll probably be going up there this week we'll have a little mini meet smile.gif. Now you just need a few more things to the exterior and she's done.

I got the sides, rear, and hail damage fixed myself then got booted out of the garage and had a shop do the fronts, prep and paint. The ss-iii splitters up front are cut and the front parts are molded to the bumper and the rear pieces are molded to the body. I wanted the fronts molded since the rears and sides are and that was the only way to do it so that I could still remove my front bumper. You can see it in the first picture I have posted. I'm a little iffy on tire shine though. I've tried a few different ones and they always seemed to run and put black streaks on the rims.

Dustin - I second the question from DS, do you have problems with them?

We shall show mercy, but we shall not ask for it.
If you use tire shine. Make sure you let it sit and dry for a while. I always put it on right after i wash my car because it takes me about an hour or 2 to get it all dried up and the rims cleaned then the tire shine is dried.

Oh I see. Great idea if you are into the molded look. Nice work. I can't see how that would hurt anything tho.

About the tire shine - I put on the gel type and it doesn't run at all and lasts for a lot longer. But if it does run you can just wipe it off once and it shouldn't run again. Maybe you were just using too much. Really tho - you do need it. Now the tires are the only thing that doesn't look brand new on the car. Just gotta put an extra 5 mins worth of work into that area and you will have the cleanest vert on the site for sure.
Props anyway you go man.

BTW - are your tails tinted or are the older ones just like that? It looks great. They are not curren tails are they?

When removing the front bumper... and then putting it back on has caused premature wear... it's just not a very sturdy thing IMO.... Hopefully yours lasts better than mine has.... Although I can't fix mine right now because I just bought that 350z
Negative - guess I'll pick up the gel type and try it today, and my tail lights are currens, I bought them from vincent_doggy

Dustin - hopefully smile.gif

celiracer - I think you may spend too long washing your car tongue.gif

jaws - Almost forgot to respond, I'm saving the camber plates for when I get my coilovers, however, I'm going to have to wait on those until I get back from Europe. Now that the cars all done I'm saving my money since I'm going to be gone for two and a half months.

We shall show mercy, but we shall not ask for it.
Yea, Yea, Yea I know i'm a clean freak. My car has to be clean at all times lol. To bad you can't make it to the CO meet. O-well you will have a blast in Europe and hopefully see you this weekend sometime so i can take a better look at your paint.

So Jon do you think he does good bodywork or what?
Yeah, he does great bodywork. But, I have to take the car back to him when I get back so that he can repaint the hood and buff the rest of it.

We shall show mercy, but we shall not ask for it.
