u have to soder? well maybe i'll wait then. u good with the soddering gun? i really wanna do it. well if u find out how to get that part off let me know, i'll give it a shot, I am sure if we both give it a try we can get it done right. i was thinking of changing the clock color too.

Yes you have to remove the wires and yes you have to solder new LED's. Pretty much the reason why I'm not gonna do it. I'm not confortable soldering on such an expensive component.
I think someone here could make a bunch of money if they had a spare climate control from a junkyard they could sell them with the color of that person's choice with a core to return their original one. I'm down for it but I think I would just rather drive around with a hole in my dash for a week than get someone elses CC unit back. Anybody wanna start a business for that mod? I'll be your first customer.

the blue and black wires are for the cold/hot air. The black release is located on the firewall, its a clip. The blue is located under the dash under te wheel.. It snaps out. Soldering its not bad. It takes a couple of minutes, i got the LED from Velocity in Ebay

Learned a lot in 10 years...I hardly log in anymore, last loginToday Sept 6 2019, and I was forced just to clarify a post. LOLIf you PM me and I dont respond, dont fret or cry. Im alive, better post your questions in the thread below, maybe I log back in2grfe Swapped...Why I chose the 2GR, before you ask read here...A great civilization is not conquered from without until it has destroyed itself from within.@llamaraxing in Instagram is the best way to find me. GUYS, i did my LED's and am more than willing to do anyone else's on here.... ship me the unit and tell me the color... theres green. blue, red, white - white is like pure white and its more expensive... its $2 a light and that includes installation cost... i think its somewhere around 12 lights, can finish in 1-2 days and have it shipped back

Breaking Axles...
are you guys talking about the samll retangle green lights (of the switches) or the nite lights that comes on when you turn on the night vision switch...?
coz with the small retangle lights yea you need to solder new leds..but with those 3 nitelights you can add a 194 buld in and it as bright as hell...i did mine in white but im ordering new purple refractor leds coz they are much brighter, i'll post some pictures up later if anyone's interested.

So it's true that there are 3 194s in the CC unit? I may just go ahead and change those for now and then later send them off to Pittfirefighter.
NO!! those are not 194 LEDs, they are quite small, smaller than 74 leds, you will have to modify it abit to hook it up with 194 LEDs...willpost the pics up...still waiting on the refractors LEDs...

I want pics of the 194s in there,Please tell how to do it also. Pittfighter could probably do that too for people. I would love for mine to be bright as hell.In a coblat blue to match my autometer cobalt gauges.

guys i use 74 multidirectional and you have to turn the switch a little cause they are too bright smile.gif especially blue...

there are no plug n play bulbs that fit into the slots, its all custom work... check out the post in the for sale threads for more info on this... i replace both the square indicator lights and background lights when i do the change... shocker sent me his and its going to be blue and red... i'll post pics when its done...

Breaking Axles...
the 74 leds will fit but you gotta use some force and cutting...pic is abit blurry...shoulda set it to macro mode.

here is the pic

...note that the A/C button and the "Hi" is not as bright, this is due to the firing direction of the leds...best to get the refractors leds for even light's distribution. will post that how to with the 194 leds when i receive the refractors.

I did my backlights white (just removed the green covers from the bulbs) and replaced the green on lights with red - 16 in the JDM climate control box and not too bad a job if you can solder but get some braid as it helps with un-soldering the old leds wink.gif
