Hey everybody, tell me if you think this is a good combo, red calipers and silver drums. Also, what is a good painting method when painting the calipers and the drums?
yeah sounds badass, or blue captlers, whatever you like the most
drums?... a GT dosnt have drums. u have disc brakes. yeah so anyways u should paint them red. i did mine red. looks good. use a high heat engine enamel or caliper paint whichever is easier to get.

Oh hahah Im so damn stupid, then what are the things between the wheel and the brake disc? Whatever it is, I am painting it silver >biggrin.gif>

I am painting the calipers with actual caliper paint and the other thing with silver engine enamel, which says it can withstand 1200 degrees so it should be ok >smile.gif>
yeah thats going to look good. im going to do the caliper and that round knob of metal super high gloss black. i think the will stand out a little but not draw to much attention to stock calipers. when they are red people go are those aftermrket. and i cant lie so im like nah stock.. lol

How are you going to paint your caliper? Are you just gonna take it off?
nah i take the wheel off. slip newspaper between the disc and the caliper and then cover the rest of anyhting i dont want to get paint on with newspaper. thats all.

Hey just like touch-up paint do it in thin layers, and then the enamel to clear coat it in sveral thin layers. It will look hella better. >biggrin.gif>
your not painting the rotor are you? ive actually seen some people spend hours doing this only to have it all come off the first time they had to hit the brakes.

i am awesome

i like the idea of blue and silver but reds gonna show up better...
I don't think bo is stupid enough to paint the rotor. >biggrin.gif>

Btw to split hairs. He does have A drum.
if u want to do it cheap use plasti coat's small tins(non spray paint) , in the uk they are £2.50 i painted all my gt's calipers bronze (looks more gold) , once u have put on a few coats use the same sized clear coat tin with about 2 to 3 coats and u have got urself nice looking brakes for £5 to £7 which i guess is about $7 to $10, i did mine about 6 moths ago and they look the same as the day i did the paint job no cracking or flaking or rusting..well the fronts are ok(which count the most) but the backs need done again (rusted)cause they didnt get the clear coat lol but it was the first time i have done this so the back brakes get let off lol
