some of you may remember the tales of the gt4 curse.... well .. today it got me.

my car had been in a small fender bender a few weeks ago. i decided to take it to a few bodyshops today to talk about what needs to be fixed. i got to one place, pop my hood and show them whats going on ... the hood had this very tiny dent it in from the accident and i was telling the guy how i would hate to go out and buy a whole new hood, just for such a small imperfection. so, i get done talking to the guy and i start to drive off. im driving a few blocks away from the body shop, next thing i know......WHAM. my hood FLIES open! seems that i totally forgot to shut it after talking to the body shop. i was pretty lucky that i wasn't going too fast when this happened. the hood took most of the damage, and the corners of the fenders are a little bent. but it could have been a lot worse. so remember to always close your hood!

DAAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMm i was waiting to hear what happened after you were looking for some lights, i knew somethin was up, but i remember that was an old gt4 hood curse that had not happened since the haydays', theres a red one on ebay in good condition that jarco is selling for 395....

thanks for the tip on the hood. but jarco is way over priced. i already have a brand new hood on order for a little less the what jarco wants.

however i would like to know if anyone has a rough idea of how much oem gt4 fenders go for.

Why didn't your hood latch catch the hood ?

didn't your windshield get damaged?
.... i fear that one day my hood will do the same too.

It's no curse, I think it's a way of your car telling you, "I deserve more than an aluminum hood. I'm GT-Four and I'm good looking so you better get me some CF hood!"

that sucks. i don't even know if i wanna ask for pics of the damage.

Aluminum ST205 hood > carbon fiber wrapped fiberglass hood.

yeah i did. but if you do a search on this site, youll find out that this happened to at least 3-4 other people with the gt4 hood. we used to call it the gt4 curse back in the day.

man sorry that sucks...

when i started reading your post about the gt4 curse i thought that the guy was gonna ask for a ride or somthin crazy after you opened the hood.

im just happy all the little vents and grill on the hood didnt get damaged. those little suckers are way overpriced to replace.

In the UK they are £114 each T53802-2B320 - double check that part number though as that might be the odd japanese fenders with mounts for wing mounted mirrors......Just two days too late aswell as I have just thrown out two GT4 fenders which you could have had for nowt.

just ordered the hood yesterday. hopefully it will get here within a week..but who knows.
