i might be get a shop to do it considering time and the fact that i may not want to play around with shims and centering the diff, bearings and ring and pinon gears...... anyone know whats involved in all of this???
thats for the s54, right? where did you get it, what brand, and how much?

LSD??...what kind?

its a helical/torsen lsd from toyota, which im hoping will fit in to the s54..... rumor has it that the trd helical lsd which was discontinued was used in the mk3 mr2 c52 and c56 trans. thus a diff from a mk3 mr2 will work for the s54.... however the guy that i bought this from pulled this diff out of an n/a mk2 mr2 which should have had the s54 trans.... the seller had advertised it as the lsd diff for for both the na mr2 mk2 the st202 as well as the new spyder....... after reading some websites and looking at some online catologs im pretty sure both the s54, c56 c52 trans all shared the same diff... we shall see..

anyone know if i have to aline or reshim the diff and stuff?????

guy off ebay who said he pulled it from a sw20 n/a but said it will work for the spyder mr2, st202, and mk2 mr2...... we shall see... i got it for 570 shipped which is about 100 less then what a company on spyderchat.com would sell it for new with out the speedo gear and bearings.... luckly he also had the cusco pillow camber plates which i got for a pretty good price too.. 170 for the pair which are in very good condish.

who knows trannys and diffs? should i replace the bearings regardless of condish???

Speaking of them, where did you get your top mounts and end links? I was just going to go OEM replacement with the top mounts, but if the cusco's are around the same price....

yeah i read that on spyder chat along with japanparts sales of the diff i was going to buy. but i wasnt sure how close to the s54 that would be.

im still probably going to get a pro to do it.

i got them from the guy who had the lsd diff on ebay. he originally was selling the diff for what japanparts over at spyderchat.com was offering for a new one. After getting it down to 570 he told me he had the camber plates for my car and would sell them for 170.

last time i check celicarus paid around 250 for them new so i figure i got a pretty sweet deal. http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showto...hl=cusco+pillow
