The super strut suspension is a more complex suspension system avalible to the higher end celicas. It allows the suspenson to act like a dual wishbone susension. The advantages of the superstrut is it allows the same camber angel though out the range of motion in the suspension travel. So when you are making a hard turn and the weight transfer compresses the suspension; the superstut system will maintain the same tire contact area to the ground. Therefor providind better cornering grip. All the Celica's in the USA came with the standard macpherson suspension.

yes you can bolt the superstrut to your car without major modification.
JDM SS-III debuted August of 95, the same time the celica line converted to the facelifted front end and other exterior bits. SS-III models differ in that they have higer spec as standard than the SS-II models, and all SS-III's have super strut suspention and LSD, whereas all SS-II models have standard MacPherson setup with no LSD. SS-II's built before August 95, however, DO have the option of super strut suspention and LSD, but only with the pre-face lift front end before the introduction of the SS-III took place. SS-II and SS-III differences prior to december 97 exterior wise were limited to SS-III's having standard alloy wheels and rear spoiler. Starting Dec. 97 SS-III's recieved a much more agressive exterior with exclusive mesh grill, front and rear splitters, unique white wheels, GT-Four style rear spoiler, and standard side skirts. Im not 100% on this, but either Recaros were standard and exclusive to the SS-III, or optional and exclusive to the SS-III. Starting dec. 97, white faced guages also became exclusive to the SS-III. Both always shared the same 3S-GE powerplants. Hope this helps wink.gif

If you replace lower subframe, along with the GT (Euro Spec GT with Superstrut suspension) Steering gear - no major suspension modifiations will be needed wink.gif + you would need all the Hubs / axles and etc...
