Isnt it illegal to not have high beams?

remember that part is for off-road use only. biggrin.gif
haha yea i remember seeing that a lil while ago??? i dont know if it is illegal to not have high beams??? you hardly use them anyways so who would know if you didnt have them or not lol....i have seen a car around where i live that has the same thing...the filter is coming out of is high beam...not exactly sure what it was...but i was like 'wtf' ??

.................................yeah doesn't look right to me. But oh well not my car. Thats why most ppl go for the accord CAI. biggrin.gif

i saw a cat the other day with this setup, except he removed the right bright as well and replaced it with a mesh screen. had after market brights mounted outside the outermost braces.

i was thinking about doing something similar myself. a long while back.
amen, the accord intake is the best IMO
ya to me its pretty stupid lol

the accord intake works???
Ah, I remember this... There was a guy that did it with the HKS Filter and it looked better... search function?? biggrin.gif

Fred"...Armed with backbone and busted zoo gates, promising you from the bottom of my harmonica pocket - FOREVER - you will never have another lonely holiday..."
it doesn't look as good, but honestly it draw cold air to the engine, the same idea has been applied on different cars, I've seen a green supra with something similar, it looked a lot better on the supra, it was done professionally.

on a side note, NOP I'd not do that to my car.
Mostly see this on 5.0s and camaros..
lol this is just ridiculous... honestly.

**If you play My Brute, joing the 6gc.net clan!**--A section of a kid's actual test that had been scanned--
seen this on some track hondas... even another member on here had it put in a highbeam... its really not that crazy, as its just an easy way to get a lot of air
It's not really that ridiculous. It's a pretty smart way to go, as long as you care way more about performance then looks. (which for some reason isn't really the priority of most 6gc owners wink.gif ). Like someone said, I think it might actually be able to look decent if you removed both high beams and put mesh there. Anyway, whatever, to each there own. rolleyes.gif

you probably wont even gain 5hp from this mod. if anything its more for looks.

15PSI - 30MPG - Megasquirt Tuned
I would bet this one works better than anything else kindasad.gif

Function > form

its direct cold air, in a short path, pretty smart though it looks bad...
don't call something stupid you don't know about...

and Art NO intake will give you 5hp on a 6gc
the ignorance here is amazing kindasad.gif

Making a blanket statement like that is a little bogus. Any high quality CIA will normally increase hp by about 2-4. This has been proven by numerous tuning shops and magazines on almost any car; including the NSX. (which saw about a 3hp increase through it's entire power curve when fitted with an AEM CAI) In the case of this celica, we're also talking about ram air. Now here's where things get a little fuzzy. At low speeds and at full throttle (i.e. on the strip), I'd guess this celica could see anywhere between 5-8hp gains. The problem is with ram air like this is, at high speeds it's going to create high pressure in the engine bay because that gaping whole, and air is going to start going over/around that intake, resulting in probably a loss of hp. Unless of course, this guy is a physics, or engineering major, specialized in fluid motion, and has managed to test and create a shape around the intake that reduces pressure. rolleyes.gif (somewhat like a cowl) Anyway, all I'm saying is this is a very good idea when made well, and as long as it's a strip only car. (imagen when it rains tongue.gif ) Not trying to argue with you Lagos, just saying I don't think you have much ground state the added hp. wink.gif

W/ all this said and it is best to go w/ an accord intake like many of you said. but my question is, Is there not alot of aftermarket options for the 6th gen celica like hondas and acuras. Forgive the question i am a new celica owner so im still learning.
I think injen and maybe 1 other company make SRIs (short ram intakes) and EVILSPEED racing makes a CAI (cold air intake)...besides that there aren't any options besides homegrown.

best way to do it, K&N drop in panel filter + remove the boxes inside the fender. Your OEM intake is CAI in the way it is designed and pretty good @ that. NOBODY has done any dyno testing on intakes here so therefor there is no proven better than way to do it

arent we trying to find a highpressure spot which according to this article is proabbaly best for cai

its okay to have that style for a track car but other than that, no.

agreed, but injen looks way cooler!
It is a good idea if done well.

Guys..THats is a freakin old old old picture. That not even near recent. There was a how too on doing that a long time ago on celica.org or somthing like that. And i bet it will work better than you intakes. It getting fresh cool air. And if use with a velocity stack..And a place for air to rush in the front..At high speed you may even make a half pound of boost.
Edit like maniphibian posted above while i was writting this.Cept its moving air to the filter where the turbo is. thats just feeding it cold air.
