When I start my car (5sfe, 95,XXX) at 60F ouside, it takes ~2.6c for oil the pressure light to go out. Now it is 85F in the morning, it takes 3.4c. After a long run uphill with A/C on at 105F outside, I turned engine off
and restarted in 2 hours (105F still outside). It took scary 7.5c for the light to go out.
I use synthetic 10w30 oil, just changed and absolutely full mark. The car burns little to no oil and has no problems. I assume it is normal as the oil was very hot and fluid - still would like to hear your experience in similar conditions.

oil pressure light... mine is out in about a second or less with little effect from teh weather, 240,xxx miles on the DD and it does use a bit of oil due to valve seals, im assuming thats 7 seconds???? if so something seems wrong to me oil pump on its way out? someone on here should know more about this but thats what i would begin to think

oil light goes out as soon as my engine cranks. sounds like you might have a problem dude, both of you maybe!

You might want to get your oil pressure tested. The light only comes on for low oil pressure. If you are up to it get an oil pressure test kit. The sending unit is on the head left front side. Hook the gauge up and see what it reads. It should be more than 4.3 PSI at idle (warmed up) and 30-70 PSI at 3000 RPM. If it drops or doesn't pick up as soon as you start your car then you need to have things like the oil pump looked at or the main and rod bearings. I have a 97 Toyota T100 and the sending unit just went out on mine, showing lower pressure than there was. I installed a mechanical gauge and everything was fine. Just don't ignore it.

I have a GT with 5sfe where oil pressure sensor is located near the top of the head
as opposed to 7sfe where oil pressure sensor in MUCH lower, so ST comparisons
are not valid.
