i was cleanin out my car today...and i pulled out the ash tray in the center..and i was cleanin out underneath of it caus it was really dirty...when i found what looked to be a bulb...which it was...i was like whaaattt? then i put the ash tray back in and i said what the heck is that litte thing going to light up...turnd my lights on and nothing...i pulled the ash tray back out and there is a little clear window on the side of the tray....which lights up the tray at night...its pretty cool and i never knew it was there...the bulb doesnt work and it looks like the only way to get to it is to take out the whole top part of the center consoul but can anyone say blue LED??? hahah...once i get time i think that would be pretty cool to open your ash tray up and a blue light is commin out...just thought id share i dunno if everyone else knows its there

it is always there. to get to it, just remove two bolts(inside center compartment where the cup holders are) , pull out the the trim around the shifter(need to unplug cig lighter and bulb). Then take two screws out which would be visible once the shifter trim is out.
If the wire for that bulb is connected, it will prevent you from pulling the whole piece out properly.
Lol yep there sure is a light there. Mine works fine. i just coloured the glass red/ looks very cool.
anyone know what size this bulb is considered??!!? 3mm im guessin?? so i can order a blue led for it right away...sorry the picture sucks

Good info. i didn't know that there was a bulb there either. would that be for all model?

I've known there was a bulb there but it's never worked to my knowledge so I never bothered with it. Any ideas as to why it wouldn't work?
ha ha that is funny!
my last celi didn't have the ashtray so i saw it on all the time. one time i was on a date at a drive in movie and we had some Jones sodas in the cup holders. one of the bottles sat right in the hole for the ashtray and when i turned the car back on it GLOWED!!! it was so cool looking.
Call me a traitor! See if I care. ;)
the area around it is actually a bit bigger so you could fit a 10mm inverted led in there, put some tin foil or something reflective around the far side away from the lil window to reflect more light in, i prefer the purple/white color ones for in there... but blue would be pretty cool too!
you know why they put sheep at the edge of a cliff.... that way they push back!(2:27:32 AM) edit: please f*cking work, f*ck, sh*t, piss(2:28:08 AM) edit: that did the trick
whoever replaces the bulb, take a pic night/day as well !
You say you don't understand how we go dumb, but have you ever been where i'm from?-=-] Livin it in tha bay's a lil different [-=-
i already ordered a 74 blue LED for it adn the tin foil idea sounds good..i imght do that..as soon as it gets here and i put it in ill post some night/day pics..and yea..im blue LED crazy..hahha
