Was filling in info about my celica here on the forums the other day.
I then couldn't figure which kind of celica i have.
It's stock 1.8 liter with 115 horsepower.
Could someone please describe the different types for me?

115 hp? Hey that's more than I thought. Seriously, I heard bhp was 105...maybe that was wrong.

I believe it was 115 for non- cali spec ST's and 110? on the cali-spec ones.

o well, least it's a step up from the 5th gen ST. what was that just a hair above 100 hp?

hahaha the older the better i guess 115 hp .lol and our celicas are pretty fast lil sports cars.(there not very lil but fast big sports cars sounds funny)

Don't forget the GT/SS2 (3SGE) is the mightier Celica at about 170bhp

For the UK there was also an SR model. This was essentially an ST with some parts from the GT and some factory and dealer options fitted as standard. They were produced from Aug 1998 through to Oct 1999 although a few dealers still had one available at the introduction of the 7th Gen. model. In total 250 were made in silver and 250 in black, no special serial number plaque was put on this model.

Differences from the ST:
The 16" Momo sports alloy
rear spoiler
side skirts
stainless steel mesh grill only available on the SR
air conditioning (sunroof remains an option)
Sony CD/Radio/Cassette double-DIN
lowered and hardened suspension

There are unconfirmed rumors that some SRs had carbon-fiber center console. It is a possibility that this was an optional extra - certainly most seem to have the standard black console.
