Topic #49449 7 posts Started by atif7x7
hi folks,

Is there anyway 2 knw if i have a bad battery or a bad alternator? my car keeps dying overnight and runs beautifully once boosted. I turn it off for a few hours come back .. struggles to start and then stops responding completely. As soon as its boosted runs fine ..

my instinct says its the battery. any ideas or experiences ?

anythin will help

thx

Looking for parts in the Ontario area .. if any1 can supply me some mods .. pm me .. THXLooking for: Lowering Springs, Front Lip, JDM Rear Lights, Cold Air Intake
I am going to say that its your battery dude. If it were your alternator your car would start then die a little ways down the road. But since you say you charge it then run your car then after you shut it off it won't turn over that makes me lean towards the battery.

turn on the car.

once is running, disconect the battery, if it stays running the problem is your battery, if it dies you need a new alternator.

I assume is your battery, by what you describe, but the test won't take you more than 5 minutes.
Battery... go for a new one!

If you want your air bag light on go ahead and disconnect battery terminal while car is running . You may have bad cell in your battery or bad connection on the posts. Also check any possible draw from the battery.
yeah disconnect the battery...disconnect the negative side and if stays running its your battery and if turns off its your alternator just like what Culpable04 said in the previous post..
