Well, we are having a longer open courses too, like an airport autocross in maj. We had speeds up to 80-90mph and my Celi end up on 1st two places from, I think 14 cars in STS. I dont really care about drag racing at all. I know I did 10.70 sec on 1/8 mile and that's about it.
Right now, I'm looking for a daily driver and want to build Celica to National level STS car. Long way to go, but I think it is possible.

does anyone auto x their coupe? ive had gt & st hatch and now an st coupe, and imo its faster than both, both handling, corner speed, and straight line speed

Yes you are right my friend. You got the car. ST coupe is better. Less body flex and it is lighter then hach.
Go for your local autocross club and try it out. You should do really good. Is your Celi stock? If yes go and run H stock class and with some sticky tires and good driver you can kick some behind out there.
