when you do it yourself, you can fix it whenever you have a post swap problem but if you pay to a shop or someone it'll cost you a lot more in the end, because those post swap problems will have to be taken care by a shop again.

this is not like going to a shop for a tire change, where they change them, you get the car back, and never think about it again. the idea here is to do the work yourself and learn as much as you can. that way, if any issues come up down the line, youll know how to fix and diagnose them. most shops do a rush job, and a lot people had nothing but major problems when dealing with a shop. do your own work and learn about your car, man.

Agreed. If you don't know how your car is put together the problems that will arise, and believe me there will be problems, will be much harder to diagnose & fix.

maybe you could get someone with experience to help you do it.

I agree with everyone about doing it yourself, although it took me a while ive learned so much and wouldn't have it any other way. Now I feel confident tackling other things about the car and trying my hand at custom work etc.
I also started the swap without knowing what cams were or how a turbo system "really" worked etc. I couldn't have gotten all this knowledge without the great first hand experience.
(and of course many many "help me!" posts on 6gc)
