so i need to buy a downpipe for my st185, the only downpipe i have been able to find is a damn ebay pile, and i know they are known to be pretty crappy built, i have found some for the SW20 and am just guessing that those are not right and want some input if any one knows where to get a descent DP.

You want the best? Check out ARC, HKS, Greddy, vielside, ect.

I've read some very amazing things about ARC.

I wouldn't have anything else then a Aussie Downpipe.

You have 4 options Aussie, KO racing, Berk and eBay.
There is also a Blitz diffuser cast iron unit that replaces the main cat (not the whole downpipe)

This is the Blitz



Its costs the same as a complete downpipe but has less flow then it. So I wouldn't buy it.

Just have a look at this beauty (The one on the left of course).

You forgot to mention that the KO racing is 2.5" in diameter.

Yep, the KO is 2.5" but has larger radius bend.
Blitz is cast iron.
