Ok so my grandfather's first cousin Grazietta is in NY until August 1st. She came over from Italy with a 3 other family members for a wedding this weekend. Everyone else is leaving Sunday for Italy.

Grazia wont travel back home alone. So without really asking my grandfather said that I would take her and stay for 7-10 days. The problems with that are a. I don't really speak Italian. I mean, i can kinda get by speaking at like a kindergarten level, maybe less than that. b. August 6th is my one year anniversary with my boyfriend. We've been planning to do something for our anniversary. ( yes i am aware some people don't think 1 year is a big deal but I do.)

so I'm torn. I haven't been to Italy in 7 years. I'd LOVE to spend a week with my family in Laurenzana and Potenza i just don't know.

I figured everyone would say that.

I guess I'm just sad I'm going to miss something I've been looking forward to, and I know my family is coming back for my sister's Wedding in December.

I also don't think my grandfather realizes that I'm going away Aug. 18-25 which means his law office will have no paralegal for 2 weeks in August.

I think I'm just making excuses.

Honestly - Dont. Life is ong enouth to see whole world - and if you really love the person - so one year with a Loved one is smothing more then just s simple aniversary.

first Tina: is damn pity you will not be in Italy 25-26th of August . Many European 6GC members will be in Italy as well . Second: just take your BF with you. I can not imagine anyone of your family would be angry about that. And third.... if you just must choose... I would choose family (if your BF loves you he will understand for sure... and he for sure will enjoy your "excuses" ).

Go, it isn't even a question, I'm here right now, and I left my gf behind. Sure, I miss her, but Italia e molto bellissimo. I only wish I would be here for the meet.
