Be careful. Alot of people call this a scam.

Do a search its been brought up more times than I can remember. IMO if you need to pay to get a "sponsorship" its not a real one.

g thanx for calln me a scam rolleyes.gif anyway no its not a scam you do have to pay for it though but the discounts you get from vendors and the checks you get from winning car shows is well worth it i dont get money for recomending sum1 so if u dont wanna join dont do it i dont care but the only requirement they have besides paying is havning the stickers on and ive never had a prob with these guys the one i had a prob with is carsponsorships.com

Well no celi for you yet.......I have a prelude I'm trying to sell, and IS300 I might buy and some other possibles so I might just do some touch-ups to my celi and sell it anyway. I'm waiting on the contract to come through. I'll post a copy of it up here:
1) because they are looking for cars to sponsor all over the place and
2) because I want to make sure I don't get screwed.

Yeah I saw that already and I contacted the BBB for some info. They have about 40 registered complaints (all under the previous owner) and they were all resolved. Apparently since the new owner took over everything is doing much better. And my contact there, DJ, says the membership fee goes to many things like maintaining the website, vinyl making and shipping, etc. and its only a one-time fee, so if I get screwed its not too big a deal....I might have to make my own lunch for a week or so but whatever.

I'll be getting the contract today so I'll post it later.
so this means you get to hook us up with discounts on stuff :-D hehe
What you guys call sponsorship, I call sale pitch.
I agree with Supersprynt here.
Sponsorship = no out of pocket money
Same as when Castrol sponsored TTE back in the day.
TTE did not "buy" any Castrol products at discount rate.
Instead, Castrol paid $$$ to TTE to put their emblems on it.
Your sponsors should supply parts for you, NOT making you buy their parts and advertise their company at the same time.

I don't think he was debating whether or not it said they were full sponsoships or lying about it.

That's what I would've assumed a "sponsorship" was, if I would have to pay money for someone to advertise, I'd say I was in the wrong "business." Kinda a oxymoron, dontcha think?

My PERSONAL opinion, is that this is a clever marketing campaign after the tuner boom, Fast & Furious and Hot Import Nights making getting sponsored the way to go.

I don't doubt they actually pay certain people who have cars that go on tour with HIN/HID so they actually get their name out there, but for the most part this maybe just a discount program.

Of course. Anybody need anything let me know. I won't always be able to do it, but I can always try
First of all, there are requirements for the certain levels of sponsorships. I qualified for semi-pro sponsorship which means that they pay for half of everything I want to do to my car. If I had qualified for a PRO sponsorship, they would pay 75% to 100% of everything for my car, depending on how much work was done on it already. In my case, I had over 3000 dollars done to it already because of the engine swap. A little more money into and I will qualify for a Pro sponsorship. They sent me two vinyls that I have to put on my car, and I DO have to attend 3 car shows a year (which are free to enter). If I win any of these, I get more cash bonuses or performance parts for free.

It is basically a discount program, but hey, half off for a GREDDY stainless steel cat-back exhaust system is fine by me. They also pay for half the labor that goes into installing the parts, or getting a paint job or whatever.

So basically if I get $5000 woth of stuff done to my car, I only had to pay $2500, plus the cash I may win from shows or races.
