i installed my in dash cd dvd palyer and was woundering bout that little silver box just below the a/c unit, can it be pulled out and tossed or do i still need it isnt it just a stock amp? i wanna get rid of all useless weight

you can pull it out. its of no use to an aftermarket stereo

what else can i take out that i dont relize i have that does me no good. to eliminate weight

back seats and spare tire! lol. idk personally.

i took mine out...it was HELL!...probably like 4 hours just to pull the screws on both sides of the stock amp

ok yea im having trouble getting amp out, the center consle is in the way iv unscrewed glove box and center consel and i still cant get it off for one i dont know how the a/c pulls out there is a solid cable conected to this white thing thats connected to the a/c that blocking the center from pulling out......do i have to pull the center off or is there a way of getting in between there looks tough to do.....car looks like a mess now....it so dirty behind all this, really got me feeling down with all this, i wanna get it all off and clean this up i cant just put it together knowing my celica has bout 10Ibs of dirt behind the gagdets....


edit: ok i found the how to and i got it done but now since its all apart im redoing some things suches as switches, dvd player, spring cleaning,redo faded color, wire organize.....

oh yea i have a door panel question the guy who owned the car b4 m3 painted the door panels and thats its getting hotter the door are gettint sticky and the paint is coming off all over my clothes hands and arms it a mess.....what do i do?

Actually.. If you have 6 or 8 speaker setup... and you dont have an aftermarket amp... You might want to use the stock amp. If you dont.. all you will be doing is splitting your speaker signal between the bunch... IMO makes crappy sound quality.....

I have the 8 speaker setup and wired my Pioneer DEH9400MP to the stock amp and am using all 8 speakers... before i just wired it to the regular speaker harness and it didnt sound as good...

just my 2 cents...

manny....i know what you mean but i do have a aftermarket amp fosgate so im pretty happy with it................but if i didnt than that would of been good to know.........thanks for puttin in ur two cents

I have the 8 speaker setup and I removed the stock amp and I still run all 8 speakers off the stock deck no problem. Just wire them in series and you won't blow anything up, they just get less power.

Less power, and you are just splitting 2 channels between 6.... Nothing will blow and you are right.... there won't be any problems.. it just sounds like complete crap.... Well.. compared to a full 8 channel setup....

is there no clear coat on the doors? and are you sure it was CAR paint?

Remove all the old paint(very important to take your time and remove properly) and then get yourself the Duplicolor Vinyl Dye and respray it. Otherwise, just find new ones.

ok ill try that does wal-mart sell that brand of paint or do i have to go to a paint store
