Is it possible to fit 10" subs where the rear speakers are out. I understand it might not be possible, but how about 8 inch? I think i'd get some good bass and a clean sound by having some amped sub's in the back without having a box take up some space.

I don't think you'll fit 10s back there but maybe 8s. The one thing you have to take into account is whether the sub you're looking for is designed for free-air mounting or enclosure mounting. I don't know if there are many 8s that are free-air.

One thing that I'm considering doing is getting a 6.5" sub that Rockford makes. It's not free-air but I think there's enough space to build a custom enclosure that would fit AND satisfy the enclosure volume requirements. Check it out at: http://www.crutchfield.com/cgi-bin/S-EscPx...a=0&cc=01&avf=N

The rear speakers have triangular plastic brackets, they take about a 6 to 6.5"
speaker. If you want anything bigger in there you'd have to customise and thats
where things can go badly wrong.....I'd think twice before trying it

If you fit the sub in there let me know if the window still rolls down, I'd be interested in these.

kicker makes free-air subs for the doors

in my opinion there is no way to fit an 8 inch sub in the back because there isnt that much room for the cutout or the magnet.

if you dont want to compromise room in the trunk then get some TRUCK boxes with some 10's in there and put them on the floorboard in the back.

I'm talking the 6.5 rockfords here. Im guessing they might fit w/o window restraint.

how would the window have anything to do with the rear speakers???


I actually found that JL Audio makes a 6 inch W0. my cousin works at the local stereo shop and we took one out there and it fits perfect in the back

the front its to small


we tried a 8 inch W0 and it fit pretty good

so for those of you who want more bass but dont want to take up trunk room you can try that.

just make sure that its mounted very stiffly...meaning no loose screws. plenty of sound deadener.
