your perfect sleeper - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #51102 41 posts Started by Redline08
So being a pimp in my celica is nice and all but its kinda annoying having all show and no go. Next summer i want to start a sleeper project to change things up a little bit. Heres what i was thinking:

I saw this accord the other day that looked like a slowwww mommy sedan (exaclty what i want) and i sorta said perfect, then after pulling up behind it i saw it had v-tech and a v6. If it was a 5 spd i might have asked the guy driving it to sell it on the spot lol, bue yea i wanted it.

I havnt really looked into it alot but heres what is ideal:
-bigger than a 4
-5spd common
-light and looks wicked slow
-more than average aftermarket performance support

What would you do if you wanted to build the perfect sleeper?

O yea try a budget of no more than 5k, lol sorry

(im not 3sgte swapping either!!!)
Camry AllTrac with a st205 3sgte

I saw a 185 3S swapped camry Alltrac at the show a couple weeks ago. The only thing that made it look "modified" was the rims, but other than that..... it had a TMIC and a stock-tipped muffler. It was awesome.

Porsche GT3 like my friend's or a Mercedes CLK55 Kleemann like my other friend's
92 Civic 4door, H22/23 Hybrid motor, bored out to a 2.4L and a 200shot of nitrous..oh wait...thats my buddies car..lol. My friend mayo has the best sleeper..it is seriously just a stock looking 92 civic 4door, GSR blade wheels, lowered, tinted and thats it..stock muffler with hidden turn down exhaust and dump valve, hes got 350BHP on the motor without nitrous and just over 520BHP with the nitrous. He runs 10.2 1.4mile and then drives it home..lol
Not so much of a "sleeper" but ive always wanted to build a GZE AE92 sedan. I think they just oh so sexy. Hahaha

Or if I get lucky as hell find a Geo Prizm GSi.. they come stock with the 4AGE in a 4door! lol

hmm best sleeper would be a honda.. but now a days.. many think that hondas are never sleeper.. I see people revving on stock hondas.
92-93 Camry SE V6... They do exist in stick form.

but its still a neon o_O!!!

grab a mitsu colt. + 4G63.. = sleeper!
My car the way it is right now biggrin.gif lowered on nameless rims messed up front bumper and flat black intercooler.... they never see it coming wink.gif
Dan, your friends are too rich. . .
I've seen a old corolla GTS completely stock on the outside, crappy paint, stock wheels etc, with a 1JZ swap in it driving around Newark. I know is a corolla GTS but I still consider it a nice sleeper. I saw this car taking a M6 on Rt 280, that was sick !
early 90's Impreza L with the STI motor. Stock springs, koni shocks, stock wheels, and some good tires.

MKII vw golf/jetta/gti with a supercharged VR6 swap.

2WD toyota tacoma with a 1/2JZ swap.

the guys who did the body work on my 99 civic si a few years back had a suzuki sprint, with a sentra se-R engine in it (sorry, can't remember nissan engine codes at all, haha). all i know is it was turbo, and incredibly quick.
I have given a little thought to sleepers in my time as I think they are the best form of car out there and I want to own a couple of them. My top couple on the list right now are a cressida wagon with a 1uzfe swapped into it or a previa van(haven't figured out what motor or mods I would do to it yet but it could make a hell of a sleeper).
