Both Kanye and 50 are dropping records on September 11th. 50 has said that if Kanye sells more that he will quit putting out any solo albums.

Im not really into rap but cant stand 50 so I will be supporting the cause and pick up Kanye's album on my way to work that day.

Anyone else going to support one over the other?

Kanye has better stuff. There's only so many times you can rap about the ghetto, being shot and your bling. Rap is going downhill at a steady pace.

That being said, I haven't bought music in 2 years I'm not starting now.

I rarely download music. Takes too much effort to search for the music then download and wait and then put it on cd. I like to just buy the cd on my way to work at Fred Meyer where I can pick up my lunch for the day and then burn it to my computer at work then throw the cd away.

Kanye's new cd is the S***. Have you guys heard Stronger? Thats a great song. I like both guys though. But I will probably buy Kanye's before 50's.

Theres much easier ways of doing it that I won't mention here. I find it ridiculous to pay $15-20 on a cd that I may not even like and will definitely not use once its on my Ipod. I don't burn anything anymore.

I haven't bought a DVD in a year either

****ing hate kanye for this song, Sampling daft punks harder better faster stronger. Ugh makes me sick to my stomach. Much like busta rhymes taking daft punks technologic. It is an absolute atrocity.

I like song sampling. That song takes me back to the daft punk day of Around the World (i know its not the same song as sampled by Kanye) and reminds me of other songs and what not :-) brings old stuff back to life

not exactly... i like sampling djing and producing in general are both alot of fun with out sampling there really wouldnt be any rap hiphop techno house whatever the difference is the sampling of break beats which is harder to pick out unless your into them kinda britches

Personally, I don't really like either. 50 Cent has some good "songs" and Kanye has some good "songs" (I put songs in ""'s because they're all just talking with a beat, not singing)

and I agree that rap is going downhill. You can only talk about the "B*tches n' hoes lamborghini ferarri twenty fohs smokin' dope and cappin' bros" so much, and now a days everyone is talking about it.... hell I just rhymed!

The only rap/hip hop I listen to are some select songs by 50 and kanye, ludacris, gangstarr, and Jurassic 5 (Thanks to Coomer for turning me on to the last two )

Kanye since he has roots with The Roots, Jurassic 5, Common, Talib Kweli, and all the other badass people. . .

regardless of his cockyness, he still produces good songs(ie. new Common)

I like Kanye West more because he is a lyricist. When you listen to his songs, you often hear something, and then moments later say damn after you realized what he meant. I had never bought a CD and liked every single track, until I picked up College Dropout. I must have listened to that album over 50 times beginning to end. Unfortunately, I don't like Kanye much anymore after the couple of hissy fits he had on public television, showing him to be a selfish sore loser.
50 cent is good when I'm cruising around, or just want a good beat.

Either way as someone said before, the whole thing is marketing anyway.

I agree its a whole marketing ploy and wouldnt be suprised if 50 cents people buy his cds or if he evens buys large quanities to make sure he doesnt get beat.

I still will support Kanye because I think he is pretty talented compared to 50.

kanye's a pretty good lyricist and all... but he's too cocky. and the whole bush racism remark and complaining about losing awards and what-not just makes me not wanna listen to his songs. fiddy is alright sometimes, but i just get tired of his songs too quickly. same thing with every other hip hop song too. so cal has like 10 different hip hop stations that play the same ish over and over.
