Engine Swap Question..Help - 6G Celicas Forums
If you mean you're going to pull the motor from the GT and put it in the ST, then no. The motor in the GT is a 5S-FE 2.2L, not the 7A-FE 1.8L.

Well, if you have the complete car, then yes of course you can swap it in. You'll also need to swap the tranny, axles, mounts, a/c and p/s lines, and so on.

Well, technically it can be done, it just isn't a drop in kind of deal.

You say you don't understand how we go dumb, but have you ever been where i'm from?-=-] Livin it in tha bay's a lil different [-=-
I have a '94 celica ST (i think not sure, there arn't any badges on the body indicating so) and of course i want to make it as fast as possible, i have read around the forums and it seems the best way to do that is to put in a 3sgTe, about how much is that gunna cost me.
"I will never accelerate fast enough, i will always top out to low, and no matter what, i will always try and go faster."
I would say you should set aside at least 5-6K for the swap... less if you were going to do it all yourself.
