So i went out to go test drive a 7th gen a while ago since im looking for a daily, RED 2001 5-speed...Im getting a killer deal IMO because the car only has 48K miles and really clean, just usual 7g cosmetic problems like (faded headlights, plastic sunroof glass and rear bumper paint..).

Performance wise is feels like my old 94 STX, as in it feels like im driving a 7afe that can rev to 7K rpm...
Steering response was really nice though, really responsive. I just dont know if i should get a 7th gen daily because i dont know what mechanical problems they run into, thoughts?

the 1ZZFE eats oil, early model [2000s] just had a recall about the master brake cylinder [I still havent brought mine hahaha]

Other than that not too much from my knowledge. I own a 00 GTS, I use to own a 97 ST, moved to the 00 GTS Without a 2ndgear.. the 00 Is more responsive with less of the ginormous bodyroll my 97 had.

IF you think a 5SP Corolla is a good daily, its the same.. just lighter and more styling.

i have a toyota matrix with a 1zz. its been VERY reliable, and doesn't eat a drop of oil. its a good motor.
