Hey guys, I've got a 97 gt (no mods), and the clutch is on its way out. Can anyone give me any recommendations on what kind I should replace it with? (aside from the oem clutch)

i think i had mine replaced with standard exceedy ones, but not sure as i had it done through a service center, just get the normal ones unless you have turbo or performance mods

I got an ACT Heavy Pressure disc and Street Disc Combo for 320. Works awesome, and is good for 250 torque.

i had nvr driven any type of performance car w/ a performance clutch... and when i first bought the car, clutch was already starting to go... i bought an ACT HD PP w/ the Performance Street Disc + a Fidanza Flywheel... the first 70-100miles was hell for me to drive... i must've stalled a million times the first couple days i got my car back (clutch was sooo springy and stiff)... but after about 70-100miles, it started to feel SOOO INCREDIBLY awesome... i luv it now!
just make sure u get the ACTUAL performance street disc, not the stock street disc... bcuz the stock is just a stock.

Honestly, you should replace it with an OEM clutch. It isn't even a close call. If you want to get a discount of 20%, no tax and free shipping, call Jason at the Toyota DesMoines parts department and tell him that Jay sent from 6gc sent you.

not really a step by step.
so ive researched, came to the conclusion. I will do it myself. when, soon.
i guess.
1. take out little parts.
2. Disassemble the axles
3. Drop the tranny. (the engine too???
)
4. put it in.
5. Finish.
Is this basically it? I guess. Please correct my steps. I could not find steps by steps specs.
LIke torque for the flywheel, torque for the clutch plate, does anything else need torque?
