I know this a strictly Celica website but i need some advice ! My dad's 2000 Camry Needed brakes so i decided to do it myself , well , i had hard time taking the wheels off because one of the lug nuts was like stuck , after i took it off , i see that the lug nuts are flat on the inside , like half way through and so is the thing that they go on ( wheel hub ?) ... i started doing everything that manual said until i reached the point where i dont know what to do and dont have the right tools for it ....... SO i really don't know what should do ..... i put the wheels back on with only 4 out of 5 nuts ( just one wheel) and just drove it slowly into the garage but i need a simple explanation of how to change the pads and of course the hub or whatever tehy call it .........and since i am a noob with lots of school work and not alot of time , i want to just take it to a shop but i am not sure if i am supposed to drive it like this

OK , so the thing is called a wheel stud , how do i replace those ... and any tips n how to replace the pads ?

ok so you are saying that you broke a wheel stud when getting the lug off? the wheel studs can be hammered out, as in you hit them from the front and they push out the back of the hub. (someone who knows this better correct me if im wrong)

You shouldn't have to replace the hub, but you might need to replace the rotors. the rotor is the surface the break pads touch etc and they get worn down as well as the pads.

once the tire is off you should be able to remove one of the bolts off of the back of the caliper and the caliper will swing on the other bolt and give you enough space to swap out the pads (pay attention to the clips holding the pads in!)

If you are replacing the rotors too, then you need to remove the caliper completly and the rotor will slide off of the hub (might need to hit it with a hammer a bit)

I found a how-to for the stud replacement and you are right , they are hammered out and then setteled in using one of the nuts , my problem right now is a stripped nut stuck on a stripped stud , i been trying to take it out for about an hour now ..... uh

torch or just cut the stuck nut off the messed up stud?

I dont have a camera , but i got everything out , now i need to replace the stud and put everything back on... thank you guys
