Funny noise while slowing down - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #52093 5 posts Started by thedrunkfish
I have a 96 ss2 celica st202. Have had no problems with it so far however when im slowing down or just cruising at around 30 km/h i hear a faint knocking noise that sounds like its coming from the rear of the car. The noise doesnt occur under braking but i think the main reason i cant hear the noise at higher speeds is the engine volume at higher speeds.
Anybody got any ideas of what it could be? I recently had it serviced and im gonna be a little peeved if it was missed.
sway bar mounts need more grease?
sounds like a bad brake caliper bracket or it could be loose.

check brake pads, mine did that and they were in desperate need of replacing
Just fixed this same problem on mine,,,,Brake pads are fine but it was the metal sliders,, I removed these an used plenty of "copper slip" break grease stuff,,,

Left those metal parts off,

No more knocking smile.gif
