Hey what are the best coilover springs? Is the ones on Ebay good? Dropzones where can I get those from?

Is it true that I can use coilover springs that are used on Toyota Corollas? Give me input.

Oh yeah and one more thing....Does anyone know how to install them here in So Cali??

I have ground control coilover.
are those good? where did you get that from?
I've heard good things about Ground Control, and bad things about all those cheaper coilovers.

Also, I bought some of the coilovers off of eBay and had them on my car for about a month, and the ride was so horrible that it was dangerous, even when my car was raised above stock height.

New Toyota project coming soon...
so the ebay coilovers such lol wouldn't surprise me..what do you have on your car now? i need to drop my car a little bit but i dont want springs i want coilovers...so what you think i should get that woud be good ride for my car
Right now I have Eibach Sportlines on KYB GR-2 struts and shocks, and I like them a lot. >smile.gif>

New Toyota project coming soon...
So when I get coilovers I have to get struts and shocks? I'm not good with info on suspension and stuff. LoL i'm still learning..where did you get your stuff from?

thanks bro
I'm sorry guys I'm e real novice. What are coilovers and what do they do?
I got my coilovers from nipponpower, online. They were about 375 for the set. As fas as performance goes, they're really good. I even got to request my prefered spring rate. if you get these, I suggest you change you shocks. Actually I suggest changing your shocks if you lower you car, no matter what you use.
So what kind of shocks did you get?
I have a set of dropzones ill sell you for 85 shipped they were on the car about 2 months or so!

Thats a nice ass SUPRA!

Which one should I get?? What kind of coilovers? Cause people are suggesting a lot lol
I look at it this way.

I do not want to go back and buy.

Eibach and Koni or GroundControl is good.

Just as Coomer stated, if you can get the SportLine springs from Eibach and Tokico adjustables, go for it.

But if you can get Cusco, Tein (http://www.tein.com/ssdamp.html), that would be a better combination size the spring rate will match the shock properly.

If you do not see what you want, drop them an email. Tein have a kit in development. Check to see if they are finish. That would be a better balance setup.

JIC may have, also give them a call. Sometimes manufacture have stuff, but are not posted.

If you can use suspension kits from the corollas, then that will be good. I will try to fine this out for you tomorrow.

Does any know or have ever seens the Corolla ZZE110 suspension? If so, is it the same as the AT200?

Coomer, it you can, you need to put together a list of stuff that cross reference between other cars and celica.

Good news!

Tein Japan has Tein HA Coil overs.

Contact Tein USA and see if there can get them for you.

Tein USA have the TEIN SUPER STREET Damper in development. Contact them also on this.

But the HA would be a better setup.

wait it out for the tiens Im swapping out my GC coilovers for em, I think the springs will be about the same but they will not be mounted on a sleve that slides over the strut. The shocks will be beter than what is currently available. IMO
I'm interested in ground control..but can they run with my stock shocks? Just wondering cause I want to change my shocks later cause the $$$$$$ I have to get soon
Then might as well save for struts and coilovers all together. It's easier that way so u wont have to waste time taking off the coilovers from the old struts and putting it on tot he new ones. that's just more hassle that you could be avoiding. IMO I'd rather get a full coilover system like TEINs or JIC-Magic rather than those sleeve ones like Ground Control or Dropzones. But it's all up to you.
ground control is the best coilover kit, but be aware, coilover spring kits are a bumpy ride. if you really need the adjustablity, go for it, but if you can afford to be low all the time, go with regular springs like eibach or ground control springs.
You can slam the car with ground controlls right? >smile.gif>

Also, if I get GR-2's with my ground control coil overs, will I still have to do some grinding on the shocks to get the coilovers to fit right?

Jon
I bought some ground control..do i need to buy KYB shocks..or can i ride on my stock ones for a while until ig et cash??
I haven't installed them yet. I hope it rides good
I was surfing around the site & seeing that most people talk about a 1 inch, 1.5 or 1.75 max drop.

Then I came across this member profile which has a "lowered front 4" and back 3" by H&R" Is this for real? & If so what are the disads? is there rubbing with this height & some 18 inch tires. Is the ride unbearably bumpy & bouncy?

I'm pretty new to suspension issues, let me know,

thanx

I put a set of new coilovers by tanabe on the parts section, I don't know if Coomer has put them up yet though...

They are the same as what Signal racing uses on their S-13's.
