Well, today I went and picked up my new 89 Celica GT-S. Car looked a lot better in person then it did in the pictures.

I'm getting a new axle and a new battery put in this weekend while i'm at Ft. Pickett doing my drill for the National Guard. Hopefully after that it'll be squared away, and i'll begin to make it race ready.

The engine is in great shape, I'm going to put a bigger and new intercooler on it within the next month or so. Only concern I have is you can't hear the turbo. Is it like that with anyone else who has a 3SGTE engine? I can rev it up to red-line and it still won't hiss or anything.

Well, i'll post some pics sunday afternoon or sunday evening when I get back from drill and the bowling meet.

Have a good weekend, for you - and a good one for me. All we're doing this weekend is IWQ (Individual Weapons Qualification) should be very boring. But i'm going to hit 40 out of 40 this time. Last time when I qual'd at basic I hit 39 out of 40. Lets hope I get 40 outta 40.

Hate to ruin your day....but the GT-S in 89 came with just a 3S-GE not a 3S-GTE...that would be the Alltrac...

i think he got the 89 GT-S with an all trac engine swapped in it.

Yeah, he bought the 3SGTE engine from a friend of his. So it was swapped into the vehicle, and now its going to get swapped in mine within the next month or so

So your taking the 3sgte out of the 89 and putting it into the 6th? Whats the plans for the 89 if you do so?

Well, the body is still in great condition, there is a dent on the drivers side, right behind the door, on the back quarter panel. I'm probably going to put my 7A-FE engine in it, get it running, then sell it to someone as a parts car. Or i'll sell the engine, and the car seperatly, make the 89 a good project car for someone who wants it, and has time and money
