Anyone have a PS3, I want to get one, but heard they haven an 'overheating' problem? Anyone experienced this?

Not at all.

There are no consistent reported faults. Unlike the XBox.

i love mines; had it since day 1

i noticed mine was gettting hot, but not overheating, i bought one of the "intercooler" things from best buy, it has a varible speed knob where you can adjust the fan speed. i love it.

The 80gig dropped to 499$. They are bringing out a 40gig at the 399$ price mark. I believe it will be out on Nov 2nd, but it will have NO backwards compatibility.

At 399$ for a 40gig and 499$ with Motorstorm bundled, I may end up with a PS3 a lot sooner than I had intended.

PS3 is DEFINATELY worth getting. the graphics are amazing and not to mention the sixaxis controllers.

the PS3 can play blu-rays which is awesome. and it can also play HD-DVDs if you install linux and buy the HDdvd drive for the 360. (its on the PS3 site somewhere)

i thought about getting a wii. but its just so juvenile. 90% of the games are for lil kids and aren't much fun if you don't have 10 people to play with. i also thought about getting a 360. but i'm more into metal gear than halo. there are a bunch of fps for both systems, but not too many games like mgs.

Art: I had a roommates just crash again... so I'm still a bit pissed! haha I want a 360 though, just want a reliable one. I have heard the elites haven't been having near as many problems..., Which makes me happy... Because like I said... I want one! I just am a sony fanboy... I'll admit it

If you install linux onto your PS3 and get the right codecs it should be able to run HD-Dvd movies off of the X360's external drive. The only thing that might stop it is that when running linux the PS3 limits the amount of memory that it can use, possibly due to keeping the OS running smooth.

This is still kinda in the works but it shouldnt be long till someone makes the drivers for it.

Having to buy high-def cables seperately and a headset seperately is not fun. A 3' charging cable for the controller is not fun.

Side by side there is no comparison between Xbox Live and the Playstation Network.

So far the PSN has been nothing but a huge PITA. It doesn't like my router, after working fine before a firmware update, demo downloads take forever, and updates to play online take forever.

It's all good though. Now they just need some good exclusives...

Don't take this as me bashing, bc hell, I bought one. Just stating comparisons and my opinion.

I think the ps3 is junk and has no good games, but it was the cheapest blu ray player at the time.

As much as I love metal gear and the final fantasy series I dont see those two games make somebody justify a purchase of a ps3 when the 360 has a library of hits, not just 2
