Which are better springs??? - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #53039 15 posts Started by k-weaver
ok guys, I have finally come to the conclusion that it is finally time to work on my suspension. I plan to get some KYB GR2 Struts because they are cheap and I trust them. My only concern is the springs. I am looking at two different springs and I cannot choose which to go with.

#1
Eibach pro-kit with a 1" drop all the way around

OR

#2
Tien S-Tech with a .9" in the front and 1.4" in the back

I have done some reading and it looks like alot of people are going with the tien s-tech springs along with the KYB's. My brother bought a pair of Eibachs and he loves them. So if you guys have any opinions as to which is better or what you prefer, let me know....
I think you should go with TEINs. Because it isn't a dramatic drop and I think it is aimed more towards performance. I was an idot and picked up some sprint. All looks and no performance. It is crap compared to my handling king 2000 gts with trd springs.

98 Celica gt red- totaled deer94 Celica st black DD (bad weather beater)- totaled deer95 Celica gt silver- chassis sold88 Celica All-Trac (Burned to a crisp)94 Celica gt white (sold)In need of a rust free chassis!!!!

agreed
eibach sportlines are really nice alot of people think otherwise ,but im very satisfied
i dont think sprints are bad at all
Maybe I'm just lacking the support of the front and rear strut bars. My 7th gen has a lot of suspension mods done to it. Maybe thats why I think the 6th gen handles like poo right now.

I have Eibachs... of course Coomer cut a few coils out of them, but it hugs great. Personally I would go with Tein.

most people go with the teins cause theyre CHEAPER, more than anything else.

i have the eibachs (sportlines) and i prefer them, ride is tighter, and not as much roll.

id like to revoke my prevous comment... i was doing lots of reaserch and it looks like eibacks are better... btw its a 1,5drop
I have Tein's. They are comfy and I can hug a corner a little better. I have heard Eibachs are good as well just more expensive than Tein's and lower the rear 1/2 in. more. Springs are only gonna get you so much performance though. I would say save your money and get some Tein coilovers for increased performance if you can.
if you have a grand for coilovers why not... but eibach either way.... teins are softer, eibachs sportline are mid and eibach pro are harder
A simple spring/strut/rear sway will make night and day difference in suspension performance...

im getting ready to purchase some eibach springs, i just haven't made up my mind on weather i want sportlines or pros. my celica is my dd but i also hit the track on the weekends. would the pros be unbearable for daily driving? (im my only passenger.)

Both are very easy for a DD, the spring rate on them are not crazy high. The Pros are slightly lower than the sportline.
