heat shielding - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #53516 4 posts Started by 6strngs
I was wondering what I could do to protect rubber hoses that are going to be in high heat areas. I remeber this one time at a car show I saw a TT supra that had some kind of wrap that looked like aluminum foil wrapped around a bunch of hoses and wires that were near his turbos. I was looking for something like that, but I'm open to other options. suggestions?

google DTE i "think" was the name of the company.
when i built shannons setup, i got some at a local hotrod/tuner shop.
it was like 15$ for ~4ft of sheathing (i used it for the oil cooler coolant lines).
the stuff is AWESOME.

thanks. those are the same lines I need to cover up too. After I pulled my turbo off and everything I noticed I was leaking coolant slowly and realized I had just barely burnt through one of the oil cooler hoses. I replaced it, but now I want to make sure it doesn't happen again.

EDIT: did you mean DEI? http://www.designengineering.com/products....m=sp&pid=30
