Ya thats it kindasad.gif Let me guess photoshop? And what do you want me to ask him for you exactly?
hahaha...hey bro...don't feel bad if i found out about the shop...don't mean it in a bad way...well at least don't take it in the bad way...but if you don't mind...since the import is going to be a front end clip and rear stuff for awd conversion...can you ask how much it will cost to do the firewall exchange from left hand drive to right hand drive conversion? the price difference in swap and for switching left to right hand drive...much appreciated for your help as a member and your time. if it makes any difference...i deleted it...and if i were you i would delete the posted pic too...oh btw...im a student and still saving so...no worries from me...ill let you post the info once you're done with ur conversion.

Well I guess your right sh*t I'd do it but I really dont feel like learning how to drive all over again tongue.gif One of the guys there have a right hand drive car dont remember what it was though but he said he was so used to driving on the left that when he drove right hand car he kept sticking his hand out the window trying to shift gears lol. I havent laughed that hard in a long time

Better yet I'll get you a work estimate like mine and I'll scan it for you I'm heading down there tomorrow morning anyways cuz I'm looking for a GOOD painter for my car. Any suggestions who I should go with? Please dont say Macco lol

This post has been edited by EvolutionOX: Nov 16, 2007 - 3:27 AM
all i know is...you're probably looking at a good 2-3k or more for a real pro looking paint job...and worse thing is, every auto painter will result differently and charge you differently...some are just poor painters that charges you a lot for crappy work because they didn't spend their time on it rightly, and there are those that charge you cheapy but does a really swell job because it's what they do best to get the customer coming back (if you're lucky you find these people), and those that charge a lot for their pro work (if they do a pro work on your car)...it varies...some have it well, others don't when it comes down to painting your car...so i really can't say... i have had my troubles there too trying to find a good decent painter...lol biggrin.gif sorry man, btw, left hand drive, right hand? no real differ...you'll get use to it...

i'm also interested to find out how much for a RHD conversion. i'm in utah so not too far. i won't be able to get it done for quite some time but still want to see what options i have. i would also like to test drive one of these AWD conversions. it's the closest i will ever get to a real gt4 LOL

Call me a traitor! See if I care. ;)
i don't see how showing us pictures of the "3 AWD 6th gens" will give away this guys shop.. it seems selfish that you are hiding this resource from us (if its legit) just because you are waiting to save up money to have him work on your car.

Don't get me wrong, but i just don't see the big picture of hiding all of this information from the community. If this guy is legit, it may have just opened the next big door for this website. I know many members here that would drive there themselves to have a proper, tried and true AWD swap performed on their celi's. And if this guy has a demand from the community he will surely import more parts to make this happen for others as well.

This kid is fooking with us. I think its boulll skip that he is holding information from this celica community. Why even post a thread and not answer questions.

How would EvolutionOX feel if every thread he post on this community never gets answered?

agreed. I'm raising the BS flag on that one.

i think you guys are being a little too harsh for the guy...he just ask for our opinion on the job and wanted to see if it was legit...he also gave us a scenario of what happened to him during the visit to the shop...Im pretty sure he will get back to us with pics and info of the shop, but first...he found the shop and wants to get his celi done first....i don't blame the guy and i don't blame anyone on here throwing a fit...i was like that too, but if you were in the guy's shoe...you probably wouldn't say much until you got your celica done and then post it here for us members....which is probably the guys' mistake in the first place...cheers biggrin.gif
To get a opinion from the members on this site you need to provide good information. People in the celica community have seen scam artists so many times that we have a developed a very thick skin to claims like this. Asking for pictures not only helps us find the "next big thing" but also helps us provide our best opinion of the price and craftsmenship of the shop it self. Most people flying the BS flag in this thread dont even care about the shop name or where its located. They just want to see picture proof of a AWD work in progress.

If your going to hold pictures/information your going to be on your own when it comes time to decide if this shops claims are bogus or not. For your sake I hope you dont get scamed.

that is exactly what i mean...i hope he don't get scam and also the fact that he will be our experimental error if all goes bad, "knowck on wood"

Well I never said this would be the next big thing all I wanted to know is the quote they gave me a reasonable price. I could not care less if you dont believe me then ignore this thread no one is making you post here anyway. The shop DOES import rear clips and parts from japan of course but do you think I really want to pay more for the shipping when he has one laying around his shop that I could use in stead of ordering one, waiting, and paying more? Now chacha asked me to get him a quote and I will personally I will go back there and also take pics *if he doesnt mind* but the shop isnt what you call "close" to me its out of my way.

Easy tiger, I never said YOU claimed it to be the next big thing. I used the ""
's because I was QUOTING the words of someone else. I also never said I didnt believe you, infact, Id LOVE for this shop to be the real deal. I was just pointing out the reasoning behind why alot of these members (if you look the members using the BS flag have been around a long while) are very questionable about yours/shops claim.

Again, to sum it up, GG on finding the shop. I hope its all its cracked up to be. This may be the future of the 6gc family.

lol...i think everyone has gotten on the wrong foot...plz, no killing here or bad vibe created...just encourage the fellow...i hope everything works out great, if you can get any info from the shop of the progression they go through and what products they use for swapping...that would be great...this is a new start to getting the closest thing to a REAL GT-FOUR...good for you and good for the whole community here...good luck and if possible...pics would be really cool too...get it done asap biggrin.gif

If the shop has a really good guy in Japan, I can see this as a real possibility. The floor pan just needs to come with the clip (separated from the front. It would cost about the same as a normal front clip (you still have to buy a good running car no matter what!), and the fabrication costs on the back-end are much less.

I personally think the price is a very good for what he would be getting if the quality of the work is there.

I also agree with the 'old skool' guys - I'd like to see a few pics!

bump for pics....i wanna know if its legit as well...i hope i get a picture of you in it with a big @ss cheeser and 3 swaped celi's converted to awd behind you...that would make me cheese for sure biggrin.gif

yeah... what ever happened with this, anyway? If I had the money for this swap, I would have my car SHIPPED to AZ and take the damn bus to work every day while it was gone! A basically 6th gen All-Trac would be the car of my dreams!
I'm pretty sure its everyones dream to own an All-Trac 6th gen. Well atleast for us Americans. I would honestly pic a 17 year old Gt-Four over a 3 year old Evo any day.
