Just received my D2's through the post today, though they didnt have any instructions/recommended settings. Do any of the D2 owners here have a set of instructions that they could scan or post up?

maybe take it to a shock shop since you have to get it cert and wheel balance...

Thanks for the link Rusty, I've put them in already, though was just wondering if anyone knew if there were any recommended height and damper settings D2's and also the torque settings for all the nuts.

those are really nice the fronts are easy... not as rusted... backs on the other hand are a b**ch to do... good luck..

btw, how much you pay for the d2's

Fronts were nice and easy to do, the rears were only troublesome cos of those dumb droplinks (i'd like to have a word with the a**hole that designed them!).

I paid £510 for them shipped; I live in UK so everything's pretty much a rip-off.

Overall, I'm pretty pleased with the results, though. Just gonna take some time to play about with the damper and height settings that works best for my everyday usage.

1k usd... damn for 1100usd you can get tein coilovers.... sucks

whats a droplink?

droplink, sway bar link, anti-roll-bar stabiliser link... all the same, if i'm not mistaken

I think the only Teins available for the st202's is the Super-Streets, they're okay, though after having them on my old st205 and EK4Civic, I've found them way too soft even on hardest setting.
I also like how the ride-height is adjustable seperately to the pre-load on the D2's.

(I know they're Cusco's on here, but the theory's all the same..D2 being fully threaded and Tein SuperStreets being partially threaded)

Do you mean more functions or further height adjustment range?
(Without trying to sound like a walking, talking brochure for D2)
In terms of functions; yep, it's seperate ride-height, pre-load and damping adjustments where as Tein SS's the ride-height and pre-load are adjusted at same time.
In terms of height adjustment range, I *think* the D2's have a further range. so if you really want that bumper-to-the-floor-omg-theres-an-ant look, it'll do that!! it also does more normal heights too (ie, 2 finger gap between front wheel and arch.

I think they've also recently changed the design of the coilover they use for the celica.
ie...the ones in this thread http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showto...48043&st=20 have a difference on the top of the damping unit and also have a different style of mount for the rear droplink (aka endlink) compared to mine:

Differece between Tein and D2:
D2:
- seperate ride-height adjustment.
- seperate pre-load adjustment.
- seperate damping adjustment.

Tein:
- ride-height and damping adjusted together as one.
- seperate damping adjustment.

Many people might argue that Tein are better quality, though for us Celica-owners, the only Teins available to us is the SuperStreets which sucks as they're only partially threaded. I'm quite happy with the D2's, a lot of my friends have them on their civics and on an Evo and I can appreciate the differences from the Tein SuperStreets.

considering you have used both, I will keep the D2's in mind if i decide to go to coilover... btw, hows ya rear going?

Yeah, would deffo keep D2's in mind, the Teins were just way too soft.

Rears are in, had to enlist the help of my local garage in the end as i was having no luck with the damn droplinks
(i wussed out. haha)
All fully D2'd up now. Yissur!

grats those endlinks took me a damn day to do, well driver side did... the pasanger side went out easy... next was the rusty bolt issuw... all in all 4 days to do everything =) for a first timer with no car skill and no proper equipment i did good... now i need to order endlinks...

I hate those dreaded drop links...I rounded one off. I thing all celica owners should replace them when doing suspsntion work.


Look what happened to mine when replacing my springs, luckily the other end was ok to move.. angle grinder time. LOL

theres a sticky that i used to get it out... imo its not even worth trying to get it out the correct way...

What the crap happened to the counter-sunk part of yours, FunkySR!?! That's not even a hexagonal shape in there!!

Fastest way is to drill the nut out since the replacements come with new ones. I've also tried grinding as well, but it becomes dangerous and you tend to cut off more than what you expect if not careful, attentive, and tired or irritated.

When I did my coilover install the endlinks were a cake walk. *knock on wood* I think I spent all of 2-3 minutes on them.... of course I inlisted the help of air tools
