hyundai's new 300hp V6 rwd coupe for under 25,000, still just a concept but it will go into production, just with less carbon fiber and smaller wheels like all productions.

Hmm wonder why I like the styling tongue.gif

that thing is sexy... but it's hyundai...

originally i wanted a tiburon, but i love the celi because it has lines kinda like the tib, split lights like the tib, and it's not hyundai... nothing but bad luck with them.

but that thing is beautiful.

It's not "small"... S2000... miata... those are small. And it's a hyundai... =( (but that's not gonna stop me from test driving one)...

Hyundai has come a long way and I see good things written about them.

It looks good, seems to have nice power. However, according to the write up in the January issue of C&D, it's 3500lbs, and 0-60 in 5.9seconds. It's a heffer.

You gotta admit Hyunai's stepping up from when they first came out. Too bad they weigh soo much, otherwise I'd definately look into one for a next car....eventually smile.gif

From what I Hear the new celica is going to look like the 7th gen... but crappier. wedges have never appealed to me. the sweet curves of the 6th gen is just sweet. plus, the new celica has nothing close to a GT4. for obvious reasons.

oh and Hyundai still blows tongue.gif

sometimes I forget the age range of the people on this forum when I read some of these comments...but I suppose it all makes sense.

Anyways I like that new coupe, I see that company making a strong change as an automaker and if Honda/toyota are not carefull they may get kicked off. Yes in time but it can happen. Look what happend to Ford.

As I've said in the past I've given up on the toyota/honda sports car line upand basically jumped away from that bandwagon. It's crap really, toyota killed off the celica/mr2(s) and the only thing close to a sports coupe is a Solara which is gonna get killed this year. The tc is a joke, sorry guys but I see nothing sportish about it. It just another rahashed toyota. At least the celica had a special motor.

Honda axed the S2000 and the rsx. And who knows when the next sports car will come out.

I had a Z but it ended horribly. I want a gt-r but I'm scared of nissan quality, and the markups are going to be crazy for the first few years.

To be honest theres really nothing good(sports car wise) for under 35k. I hyundai steps it up with their new coupe.

doesnt matter what they come out with, cars are worthless these days. Ford started the downfall around 94 and 95, the only thing Cheve ever had going was that their parts where cheap (cuz Cheve breakdown all the time) and they where easy to work on but around the same time they went the way of FORD and started stuffing everything in as little a space they could, still easyer then FORD but not much.

Toyota and Honda last a little while longer but around 2000 they started falling off too,

To many computers to mess up stuff, needless plastic junk to hid the engine, and the most important part and this may sound like comspiracy, but im convinced that cars these days are built to start having major problems after 5 years of owning them. Thats a major reason i love this Year Celi, Simple! like cars should be.

I will never own a new car. they are crap, plan and simple. its stupid to need to be a rocket scienist to work on a car.

As for Hyundai, its a Hybrid, no torqu, they havnt figured out that part yet for these hybrids there for making them crap.

Uh...yeah...what?

I like the hyundai tiburons the best, one of the few cars that a similar to the 6gc curve wise (and proves that our cars needed a v6 in them.)

I too have read where toyota was going to come back in 2009 with the celica. I haven't seen any concept ideas of it but I bet it would be similar to the 7gc but smoothed out a bit more. (mabey it will also come in an awd turbocharged format and brought to the states to compete with the scoobies/evos sold here) My wife said that if they did then we should get one. (I then told here "lets make love" because of that tongue.gif )

That would probably be the only time I buy a "new" car straight from the dealership.

You would only buy a new car from a dealership after making love to your wife? wink.gif

Did you just post a link to an automatic Supra?

IS350 is a joke and its in no way a sports sedan, just a straight line fast lexus. Plus were talking about new cars and you would have to be some sort of fool to buy a used toyota thats over 10-14 years old for 25k.

Shift faster, probably. More power, no. It takes power from the engine to fire up the torque converter thus a loss in power in autos. And to be honest if you have the right clutch, shifter, and experience, the difference in shifting between auto and manual is too minute to matter.

And don't start with ferraris, they're not really automatics, they just don't have a shifter.

All cars after the year 2000,and a lot even before then, are crap cars. The computers in them are so complex that you have to be certified to have any idea how to work on them, thus making the cars more expensive to work on, thus making parts expensive, and so on. And i believe that Manufacturers do this on purpose so cars only last 5 years before something major brakes on it and you either have to a buy A. buy a new car or B. spend an arm and a leg to pay a dealership to fix it cuz a lot of shops cant work on a lot of new cars cuz they dont have the right read outs to diagnose the problems.

Simply, new cars suck.

I don't care who you are, Supras are sexy cars whether they are manual or automatic your still driving a twin turbo beast
eh, it looks nice. v6, rwd. but its still a hyundai. and i'd much rather drive manual over auto. auto may be faster or what-not, but that's just the car driving. all these new cars are finding more ways to make the car do all the driving and take the fun away from the driver. i don't care if you have a 8 sec 1/4 mile auto car. that just the car, and all the driver does is say go.

ss-iii splitters and 404 skirts areon. which means i need to update my sig.

I never said I didn't like the supra(read my post closer). Don't get me wrong I love the supra but come on its not god. Sorry buddy no ownage here.

Joe I wont discount the car just because its a hyundai. But I do agree with you that a manual is more enjoyable to drive but it isn't always faster. For example my 335i is a manual but I know for sure that the 335i autos are faster than my car. Autos today are not the same auto trannies from 10 years ago, while they still do rob power its no where near as bad as older cars.

Ok if you want an example of a great auto tranny go drive any of the MBs AMG cars. Full auto and have the power to put a supra in their place.

Well yeah, it's a 120k dollar car. But we're not talking about '08 auto trannies, of course they're better. I'm talking about a 95 toyota automatic, its not faster than a stick overall.

Im pretty sure it isn't. Plus auto, IMO, is boring. Stick requires more skill, to be more in tune with the car.

Exotic cars like Ferrari, Lamborghini and etc. are not auto. Get that right.

As for us all, do we really need a 300HP+up car. I mean really we foam at the stats but most of the population can barely even park straight. Supra would be nice though smile.gif
