NEW GAS PRICE THREAD - 6G Celicas Forums

So with the Can/US dollar being about equal we can really compare gas prices now. I just paid $1.16 a liter, which if my math is correct is $4.40/gal. That's for 87 octane. Any of you want to move to Canada? smile.gif 92 is $1.26/liter today. Kinda glad I don't have a 3SGTE smile.gif

Prices have dropped here. Its about €6 / gallon. Converted about $9.00/gallon. wink.gif It went up to about 10 dollar/gallon here 1,5 weeks ago.

EDIT:

This is for RON 98 fuel. I believe thats equal to 93 premium in the states?!

Honestly I don't understand how anyone in europe is driving anything bigger than a 1.3L desiel lol.

I saw gas for $2.99 for regular unleaded today! It was $3.09 for Super Plus.

alabama and south carolina are getting away with murder! somebody told me it was like 2.80 something for regular there in sc and like 2.70 something in alabama... those dummys are driving to south carolina (about 25 minutes from charlotte depending on where you are) to get gas.

btw: our military kicks ass so we get low gas prices!>> GO U.S. FREAKING A!!!!>>

Well its real simple. Its always been about 3-4 times USD fuel price = Euro fuel price. Your goverment makes money out of selling military stuff etc etc. We dont have that. So in order to keep the goverment cash flow up there are taxes on Fuel and other stuff as well. Also on the cars themselfs. A 20.000 dollar Mustang would cost more then 40.000 Euro here in Holland. 45 % added tax cost shipping etc.

A 30k dollar Evo costs 55k Euro here etc.

So to see you guys making topics like. WOW fuel is now 4 USD/gallon makes me laugh quiet a bit.

You missed my point. The US military or rather the production of US Weapons/Vehicles/Airplanes etc that sell all over the world generates enough money for the US goverment that they dont have to use taxes on fuel and so on to keep the cash level high enough for its country.

haha our gas is cheaper cause we can blow you up......just ask japan what happened when they tried to make us pay higher prices.......laugh.gif

Actually the US gov't curently operates in such a deficite, most countries in Africa are richer on paper. All because they refuse to tax gasoline :-)

Actually it was you that tried to make them pay higher prices = pearl habor. The US got the last word in on that one though.

Dude, I'm sorry, but it's statements like that that make the rest of the world think that Americans are dumb asses and that Bush is actually representative of the American people. Broad sweeping generalizations like that are wrong on so many different levels. Don't be such an ass.

dang... i thought this was about gas prices... next thing ya know wooden shoes get into the mix (funny) and politics (not cool)

its about $3 for 87 here, 93 is up at $3.50

Just paid 3.06 for unleaded 87 today around chicagoland

Damn, us New Zealanders just got bumped up 6c!

91 - $1.71 L
95 - $1.77 L
98 - $1.86 L (last time I checked)

Sucks that my Celica loves 98 so much!

Just paid £1.08 L approx $2.16 US, so yep its $10 gallon here for Shell V-Power (99Ron here) that makes my fuel bill $500 - $600 US per month in the winter and loads more in the summer when I drive the car lots more.
Im mapped on 99Ron so have no option /o\
