hey guys, i tried doing a search, but i cant find anything on it. My driveway is a little steep and my Ebrake will not hold my car. while driving, i can pull the ebrake and it will work but on inclines, sometimes it just wont hold. Is there any way to tighten it up or check the cable to see if its loose? Merry Xmas everyone!

J,
there is a set of bolts that attach to the cable in the car, by the ebrake handle, you can tighten the cable there, and that "should" take care of the problem, unless your ebrake shoes are too worn.

thanks alot, ill go try that when i have a chance today
remove your center console. There are two bolts in the armrest compartment, and two screws under the shifter surround plastic. I think that's it but there might be two more screws on the sides. anyway, afterwards you'll see a bolt by the e-brake cable. tighten that down. I'm guessing that right now it probably takes anywhere from 12-20 'clicks' from the e-brake to pull it fully up. well, the specification is 6-8 clicks. so keep tightening until you're in that range. this should fix the problem. It happened to me and a few others on the forum and this solution worked for all of us. it is possible that your shoes are too worn as well, in which case you'll need new shoes. but try this first.
