Jus need to know if the 7AFTE requires a stage 2 clutch or would a stage 1 exedy racing clutch be enough for about 200hp? thanks

a stage 1 exedy or spec clutch will hold 200 fine anything more then that i would go with a stage 2

Exedy stage 1 clutches are advertised to hold 40% more torque than stock. Stock is 115hp, so 115x1.4= 161 ft/lbs of toque. Considering that most 7As run about the same amount of torque as HP when turboed, 200hp will be around 200ft/lbs of torque if not more. I would not put a 161ft/lb rated clutch on a 200ft/lb engine, unless your idea of fun is tearing your transmission out and replacing a brand new clutch that you just bought with a slightly more expensive one that you should have gotten the first time around. smile.gif

this is true...depending on weither or not hes gonna get 200 out of the motor...if it was me i rather be safe and buy a stage 2

just as a reference... I love my Exedy Stage 2. it's a 3 puck style but has a good number of springs to compensate. it's a little rough at first but once you get like 500 miles on it it'll wear in and once you get used to it you can drive it pretty smoothly.
