So I've had my celica for 2 weeks, it runs awesome. Anyway it's a 5 spd MT (don't know if that matters for this thread) anyway today for the first time since I've had it, when I came to a stop after about 20 minutes of city driving, it revved and stayed at about 1500 rpms until I "tapped" the gas pedal and then it dropped back down to its normal 900 rpms at idle. Then, later again today I took it out (and it is freezing outside) and this time it revved to 2K rpm at idle until I "tapped" the gas pedal again and then it came down to normal 900 rpms.

What's up with that? I just did a full tune up last week (properly gapped), fresh oil/filter yesterday, it has an injen ram air intake (properly hooked up) and then I just checked the throttle spring in the engine and it didn't seem to stick at all. So......

Did you sea foam the car during your tune up session? It could be a dirty IAC?

no, I didn't. I just want to clarify tune up (not tune). Usually tune "sessions" are tuning.
mine did this for awhile, i just used some wd-40 on the throttle cable inside the engine bay(sorry for my lack of car vocab) and that seemed to stop it after a few days. not really sure if what i did solved the problem but it did stop shortly after i used the oil.
I'll give that a try tomorrow and see if it helps. You said it stopped a couple days "after" you sprayed it? Should I just spray the whole assembly (the bracket and wire)?
yea i pretty much just sprayed the whole thing. hope it works for you.
um thats kinda sketch...I definitely recommend removing the iac and cleaning it manually. I hear sea foam or power foam sprays can give your car a miss.
