It's a 1996 toyota celica gt convertible, with all the power options, new rims, new top, and its got 133k miles and its BLACK ON BLACK LEATHER

The only bad thing is, the headlight looks like its got water in it?, and the seller tells me that someone backed up into the front part of the bumber and left a medium sized dent.

would $2500 be a good price for this? or should it be lower

what about the water in the headlights? that really doesnt look too good..

probably just needs new weather stripping for around the the headlight...when you look at the car, check out if the weather stripping it currently has is worn. Worst case scenario, you might need to get a new headlight, which for as much of a deal that car is, I'd say is worth it.

I'd be willing to do that, if by weather stripping you mean the rubber lining around the headlights, then yes I think I'll need to do that as soon as I buy it.

if you look close enough you can see the stripping coming out around the headlights..

can you tell me how much that would cost to replace? along with a new headlight?

looks like certain body pannels have been replaced and poorly panted, need to be realligned.. but if in good mechanical order, great deal

plz, check for rust. i see that the front left fender in the picture has a piece of paint chipped off and it is brown underneath..

it also looks as if that same fender is a replacement and was poorly paint-matched. check for any sort of body damage and such..make sure the structure is sound (check for any bends in the body from impact and check the engine bay to see if it's straight/has no sign of past accident)

make sure the roof doesnt leak.

are your plans to drive the celica daily or to be a project? if there are slight damages that you believe are irrevelant to your plans, then get it. if you plan on doing engine work/swap and new bumper/hood (GT4 conversion) then buy it. but if its your daily driver, make sure everything is straight and ask if there are any receipts to see if he/she has any records of service on the celi

That's pretty cheap compare to some in our area.

That price is retarded low. Do all the above checks and see the buy/sell section for headlights and such. They come up pretty often since people change out for the projectors.
I'd get it no matter what as long as she runs good and straight and the mileage is 150K or below.

Sounds good! so im looking at two cars this weekend hopefully, this one and another one that i found, it's a 96' 25th anniversary one with only 114k miles (its $5000 though)

Convertibles can be really, really expensive to re-roof. Check the roof very carefully. Make sure everything is straight and moving well, look for water marks, etc. And remember, a new roof will have to be custom made and the verts were so rare you'll never find a used roof anywhere.

But, if it's in great shape, you'll have a nearly unique car.

well this guy says hes already replaced the top, so im hoping its good to go when i buy it?

go for it, i did 4600 on 97. all those little things can be fix, dont worry bout the headlinght. get a new one, they are all over the place here and ebay.... i had the money, id drive up there and get it... i drove to tenesse for mine.....

The car has potential to be a car you'll love and own for a long time. Definitely check for issues. I'd bring a good mechanic with you to scope it out and give you the low-down. Also, although the car is at a good price, use the headlight as a bargaining chip. You may be able to drop the price a couple hundred. Either way it's a good buy for a rare car that has decent mileage, assuming it runs smoothly. Good luck

look in the buy/sell forum, there is a guy parting out a 94 GT. prolly get a high pretty cheap from him.

Its a good Deal, the Headlight is an easy fix, 2500 is a good deal on that car. but check everything. Great deals exist, but most of the time there is something hidden that you dont see till after everything is said and done, drive it, check the engine while its running and see if you hear anything funny, check the seals( get like a hose and spray it down to see if it leaks) look for rust under the car, this like that, but all and all it looks good.

Oh and the leather bucket seats are a huge plus. I drive cars all day at work and there are few cars that I find more comfortable than mine.
