Lift Bolts - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #55558 2 posts Started by 6G96GT
Guys, are these bolts having to do with the cams/head?? I heard they break somehow? Lifters? I don't know the term "lift" bolts....please enlighten me. Thanks!!
lift bolts refer only to the 2zz-ge found in the 7th gen celicas, so unless you have a 2zz under your hood you dont need to worry about them.

As a matter of interest for you all the lift bolts are in the front of the engine, 2 per engine. They are a M6 bolt with a taper on the end, they go into either side of a cam and control oil flow from memory, in the early 2zz they can fatigue and break in the head, meaning you have to spend hours with a drill and easy out to remove the left over bits.

If you know anyone with a early (99-02 from memory) get them to replace them, easy job, prob an hour total.
