I've decided to do the manual swap and teach the wife to drive a real car. I have an S53 transmission available but I want to be able to tell how fast I'm going so I need an S54 which has the electronic speed sensor.

I have everything else except the shifter surround and boot so if you have either of those, for a competitive price, let me know.

why not get a real tranny and go for the e153? maybe even get an LSD?

You should be able to swap the speed sensor out for an electric one.
Might want to search around celicatech.com. I think a few 5th gen guys have had to do it before.

I was gonna just sale it for $100 locally, but I don't think shipping would be much. $150 ship? But I'll make sure that I still have it in the garage though. I'm in the current state of moving my garage to a newer location.

I think that's reasonable as long as it's in good working condition. What's the mileage on it? Are there any known issues with it?
