Hi guys and gals,

tried to change out the bulbs behind the clocks using this guide:

It says in the guide to take out the 3 BIGGEST bulbs but it seems that there are only 2 big ones on mine?? It's the side where the fuel and temp is that doesnt seem to have a large bulb, just small ones. Dont know what to do or what the story is, is that normal??

I have a 1998 imported SS111. I'm just using normal white bulbs as I just want to brighten it up a bit, its very dull.

Also, have a look at the lower Left hand side, seems like there is one missing? any ideas what should be here?

From what we hear lately that's normal for overseas Celicas to only have 2 194's. Must be a pain to match colors in there tho. White shouldn't be too hard. Griffgirl worked a little magic in hers to get rid of the green tint using sandpaper or something. PM her or search her posts for details. It's in the other gauge color thread that's still recent.
About that missing bulb - it's probably an option you don't have but I know from experience you can shine a good flashlight thru there and it will show up slightly on the other side. Or you could switch the bulb with another of the same size but you'd have to hook it back up and turn the car to accessory to see [and maybe even then it might not light up if it's an option you don't have like ABS or something].
I'd just use the flashlight trick - if you did it right you could probably get it even when installed from under the dash maybe?

Edit - did you buy a Volks Wagon? And tell me your not gonna use gummy bears to tint your bulbs

I have the exact saem two bulbs missing, not sure what they are for!

i have however got three main bulbs for the general background dash lighting! I have ordered some nice bright led's to replace the standard bulbs and when I do I shal be investigating via flashlight what the two missing bulbs are for!

I'll post my discoveries unless yu find out first!
