Anyone ever WRAP their stock hood with carbon fibre wrapping? Got any pics, im thinking of doing it to my car but I dont know if it will look good or look really fake and cheap. Anyone got pics, plz post. thanks
fibre,wat kinda hood is that????

BANNED. for life, you moron.
canadians spell some words different like fiber and colour... u know what it is... but to answer your question mike, I dont think I have seen a cf wrapped hood around... I'd think for quality I would go with vis cf
i'm pretty sure that playr has wrapped some hoods and trunks in CF
personally i think it's kinda ridiculous. stuff like that is what i would consider rice. that's like putting a turbo sticker on a stock st.
i agree with tim. just save up your pennies and get an oem style cf hood. looks the same if not better and is a real CF hood so you will be losing weight instead of gaining some.

Call me a traitor! See if I care. ;)
if you wrap your OEM hood with carbon, it's mainly a cosmetic mod more than weightsavings. But that is the goals of some 6gs which is fine. But having someone wrap it may cost as much as a new cf hood.

it all depends on how good of a job you do, It can look like gold or it can look like dog doo-doo, depending on how much effort you put into it.

I've seen some factory hoods (not neccirily for the 6g) wraped that looked good, it's just like a paint job, it'll look the same as before, just carbon fiber design.

If you decide to do it, then make sure you do ALL of your research on how to properly lay it. Ask for help and advice before you do the hood, and test your CF skills on a DVD or CD case or something. Just so you get the feel of what your doing before you do it!! Ask anyone who HAS done it before for tips and tricks.

Remember to use a spray glue before you lay your CF on to the hood and ensure you've got no bubbles. Lay your resin on smooth and dont let any part of it lay thick. You'll need some kind of smoothing tool. Also, you dont wanna sand it when your done, you HAVE to do it right the first time. You can use a soft buffing tool, but i wouldnt use any sandpaper...

GL with your wrap.
